Abstract:
A belt mounting system includes a main body, a device coupled to the main body, a belt mount configured to be coupled to a belt, and a locking element, wherein the main body and the belt mount are coupled to one another by the locking element.
Abstract:
A method of using a knife (1;1'), which knife has a knife handle (4), a knife blade (3) extending in elongation of the knife handle (4), safety means (2) including at least one strap (7) having a strap opening (7'), and the at least one strap (7) is secured to or at a free end (5) of the knife handle (4). The method comprises the steps of providing at least one strap (7) with a strap opening (7') having a size selected to configure the at least one strap in a first position and in a subsequent second position, wherein in the first position the operator inserts a finger (9,12) through the strap opening (7') and the at least one strap (7) engages the inserted finger (9,12) and/or the interstice (14) between two adjacent fingers (9,12), and in the second position the at least one strap (7) is arranged lengthwise the knife handle (4), and when kept stretched has a length that is sufficiently long to allow the operator to position a hand (10) on the knife handle (4) but no longer than the selected size of the at least one strap (7) prevents at least the palm (11) of the hand (10) of the operator to reach the knife blade (3) when the finger (9,12) is inserted, inserting the finger (9,12), grasping around the knife handle (4), and performing a cutting action while the finger (9,12) is kept inserted through the strap opening (7'). The operator can work fast and safe from injuries. The safety knife's knife handle (4) can easily be angularly repositioned and rotated in the hand (10) of the operator if desired, and the knife is particular useful in slaughterhouses where the working pace is high and pressure on the workers often causes cutting injuries.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a finger-protecting kitchen knife. The finger-protecting knife comprises: a lever member having one side rotatably coupled to a knife handle, and having a roller groove in a length direction thereof; a roller member movably arranged along the roller groove; a cover having a fitting groove formed in a length direction in a lower surface thereof and one side surface extending further downward so as to couple the cover to the roller member; and a protective cover member comprising a protective plate vertically coupled to a lower portion of the one surface of the cover. When food is prepared, fingers may be prevented from being cut by the knife. Further, food does not adhere to the knife and may be cut into a uniform size.
Abstract:
An improved cutting device including a mechanism for selectively guarding the edge of a cutting blade. According to various embodiments, a sliding mechanism is operatively connected to a blade guard, wherein the translational movement of the sliding mechanism causes a corresponding rotational movement of the blade guard. When the blade guard is in an extended position, the edge of the cutting blade is not exposed, thereby preventing a user from accidentally cut by the blade. Various embodiments also provide for an improved blade replacement system. According to various embodiments, a locking member is capable of lifting the cutting blade without the user having to touch the blade itself.
Abstract:
A device for cutting media is provided. The device includes a cover having a sidewall extending therefrom; a guide disposed substantially beneath the cover and comprising a blade; an actuating mechanism disposed in at least one of the cover and the guide; and an actuating wall disposed between the cover and the guide. Engagement of the actuating mechanism creates a cutting action between the blade and the actuating wall.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a pocket tool with a housing, a compartment region, pins (l la, lib) and an implement (13) interchangeably mounted on one of the pins (11a, 11b) by means of a coupling mechanism (22) and which can be moved by means of a pivot bearing (18) between an inwardly pivoted transport position and an outwardly pivoted functional position, which is mounted against a spring element and can be moved relative to the pin (11a, 11b) into an uncoupling position and removed from the pocket tool. The coupling mechanism (22) has a guide track guiding the implement (13) in the uncoupling position at an angle with respect to a longitudinal axis (68) of the housing (2) during its uncoupling movement along the compartment region. The housing has oppositely lying side walls, which respectively have convex gripping cams (59) on their top face projecting out beyond the external contour of the implement (13, 14, 5) when moved into the transport position and disposed symmetrically about the longitudinal axis (68) of the housing (2), the geometry of which is dimensioned so that in the uncoupling position, a part-length of the implement (13) lies within the compartment region and is covered by the side walls.
Abstract:
A device when attached to a regular kitchen knife that serves as a wedge between the food slice and the knife surface and therefore separating the food slice from the knife surface during a cutting process comprising a stainless steel shell with a curved edge and a convex surface, magnets and rubber stripes fixed together so that this device can be used as an attachment to a knife surface by attraction between the magnets and the ferromagnetic steel knife blade. The rubber stripes provide additional friction between the attachment and the knife surface and prevent sliding of the attachment during cutting. The bubble-like convex surface of the steel shell further prevents food sticking on the surface of the device. The device can be easily attached to and removed from a knife blade.
Abstract:
An elongate blade grip is attached to the top edge of a knife blade to achieve greater cutting control and efficiency. The blade grip includes a top member and two opposing side members connected to the top member. The blade grip closely conforms to the flat shape of the knife blade so as to allow knife users to choke up on the knife, or hold the knife partly by the blade. An elongate and rounded top surface on the top member relieves pressure on the proximal phalange of the index finger, thereby reducing blisters and calluses associated with choking up. The side members of the blade grip include slip resistant surfaces where the thumb and medial phalange of the index finger are normally located when choking up on the knife.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a device for keeping in place rolled media, while pulling the leading edge of the media, then holding the unrolled or flat media, (herein referred to as 'media') in place. The media could be made from, but is not limited to, materials such as paper, plastic, metal, or fabric. This is done while measuring a desired length from the leading edge and cutting the measured portion of the media. The invention provides a portable, safe, easy, and convenient device for handling, uncurling, sizing and cutting a desired portion of the media.
