Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Klebebandes. Dabei wird zunächst ein textiles Trägerbandmaterial (1) hergestellt und in Längsrichtung (L) zugeführt. Das Trägerbandmaterial (1) wird zumindest einseitig mit einem Kleber (4) wenigstens bereichsweise beschichtet. Außerdem wird das Trägerbandmaterial (1) in einer Trenneinrichtung (7, 8), in einzelne Klebebänder (2) mit jeweils zumindest einer nicht geraden Längskante (3a, 3b) konfektioniert. Erfindungsgemäß arbeitet die Trenneinrichtung (7, 8) drucklos. In einer bevorzugten Ausfürhungsform dienst als Trennreinrichtung eine Ultraschall- und/ oder Lasterstrahl- und/oder Wasserstrahleinrichtung.
