Abstract:
A riving knife mounting assembly is provided that rigidly and accurately positions the riving knife relative to the cutting blade by way of a simple and intuitive mechanism. Interaction between a clamping plate and a locking plate engage opposite sides of the riving knife to hold the riving knife in place, and provides a sensible indication that the two components are properly mated. A cam lever assembly allows loosening or tightening the clamping plate and locking plate together about the riving knife by simply rotation of the lever. A spring assembly maintains pressure on the riving knife even in the loosened position to maintain proper positioning of the components. The clamping plate is part of a mounting bracket that is mounted to a motor arm movable with the drive assembly, and includes adjustment screws for adjusting the orientation of the riving knife relative to the cutting blade in multiple degrees of freedom.
Abstract:
A power equipment in one embodiment includes a riving knife with a circular mounting hole opening to an outer surface of the riving knife through a throat, the throat having a minimum diameter that is less than a minimum diameter of the mounting hole, and an anti-kickback assembly including a generally cylindrical grooved shaft having a first diameter larger than a minimum diameter of the throat and a second diameter smaller than the minimum diameter of the throat, and an actuating arm operably connected to the grooved shaft and configured to rotate the grooved shaft from a first position whereat the second diameter is aligned with the throat and a second position whereat the second diameter is not aligned with the throat.
Abstract:
In at least one form of the invention, a clamp can be used to attach a saw accessory (16) to a saw(lθ). In various embodiments, the clamp can comprise first(34) and second(36) clamping members, an actuator (38), and a controller (18). In various embodiments, the saw accessory can be disposed between the first (34) and second(36) clamping members where at least one of the first (34) and second (36) clamping members can be moved by the actuator (38) in order to clamp the saw accessory (16) therebetween. In at least one such embodiment, the controller (18) can be in electrical and/or fluid communication with the actuator (38) to activate the actuator (38). In various embodiments, the controller (18) can be activated by an operator from a location proximate to the operator but remote from a blade (14) of the saw (10).
Abstract:
A dual bevel table saw provides a table saw enabled with a dual sided arbor assembly and a bi-directional bevel assembly. The dual sided arbor assembly coupled with the bevel assembly further provides for the positioning of a motor and a saw blade to allow for the full range of angular adjustment to be enabled without having to sacrifice any of the cutting features of the saw blade such as depth of cut. The dual bevel table saw may further include a companion saw assembly to provide increased functionality provided by the dual bevel table saw.
Abstract:
A table saw (100) includes a workpiece support surface (146) and a laser apparatus (212). The workpiece support surface (146) defines a blade opening through which a cutting blade (164) is configured to extend. The laser apparatus (212) is configured to emit a laser light (236) away from the workpiece support surface (146).
Abstract:
A universal edge guide is provided that is operable for guiding a tool with respect to an edge of a workpiece. In accordance with an embodiment, the universal edge guide provides tool guidance by way of a sliding fence abutting an edge of the workpiece well before the initial engagement of the tool working portion with the workpiece, during the engagement of the tool working portion with the workpiece, and after the disengagement of the tool working portion with the workpiece.
Abstract:
In various embodiments, a saw accessory assembly (16) can be configured to be attached to a saw (10). In at least one embodiment, the assembly can include a first component and a second component, wherein at least one of the first and second components can include a visual guide (34, 36, 38) configured to assist an operator in assembling the first and second components. In other various embodiments, at least one of the first and second components can include a visual guide configured to assist the operator in adjusting the first and second components in a predetermined sequence.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention concerns a hand-operated circular saw (1) designed as a plunge saw with a saw blade (3) mounted on a bed plate (13) by means of a swinging arm (7) and pivoting about pivot (9), and with a kerf guide (21) mounted on a plate (19). A follower mechanism allows the kerf guide to pivot about the axis (5) of the saw blade (3). According to the invention, the follower mechanism is designed as a tensioning device (15, 17, 23). The portable circular saw can be used as a plunge saw without its vertical movement being hindered by the kerf guide.
