Abstract:
Use of Printed Electronics on Paper to embed a circuit into Plastic Moulded Objects The invention relates to a method to embed a label essentially consisting of a paper substrate carrying electronic inks and/or a printed electronic circuit and/or device (thereby achieving a paper-based electronic circuit) directly into a moulded plastic piece (also designated as plastic object), the embedding of the paper-based electronic circuitand the production of the plastic piece being performed in a single operation. The invention thus also relates to a method to manufacture plastic objects embedding such label. The invention also concerns a plastic object encompassing a label essentially consisting of a paper substrate carrying electronic inks and/or a printed electronic circuit and/or device (thereby achieving a paper-based electronic circuit) embedded in the moulded plastic and in particular an object obtained by the method disclosed to prepare a moulded plastic piece.
Abstract:
The invention provides novel processes for producing in-mold labeled containers and the containers produced using such processes. The processes involve setting a multilayered label having an oxygen barrier layer into a mold and injecting a melted resin suitable for forming a container into the mold. The process forms a container with an oxygen barrier layer. In preferred embodiments, the multilayered label has at least an oxygen absorbing resin layer containing ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer and an oxygen absorbent and the container is retortable.
Abstract:
A device for removing a ring-shaped label (40) from a pack of substantially identical, abutting ring-shaped labels (40) comprises a pickup head (45) which is provided with a stop surface (46) and retaining means (60) for holding a ring-shaped label (40) against the stop surface (46). The device comprises a storage holder (44) for accommodating the pack of ring-shaped labels (40). A displacement device can displace the pack of ring-shaped labels from a storage position, in which the pack of ring-shaped labels is situated at a distance from the stop surface of the pick-up head, to a discharge position, in which the pack of ring-shaped labels is pushed against the stop surface of the pick-up head by means of an outer ring-shaped label. A blast of air is delivered when the outer ring-shaped label is held against the stop surface of the pick-up head, so that the adjacent ring-shaped label is blown off the outer ring-shaped label.
Abstract:
The invention relates to inmould labels. In one embodiment there is provided an inmould label, wherein said label (10) is adapted to be affixed to a moulded plastics component during moulding of a plastics component and wherein said label (10) comprises a substrate (2) having a coating (3) or layer of material on the side of the substrate (2) adapted to face a plastics component (20) to which the label (10) is adapted to be affixed in use. Also provided are articles, coated substrates, packaged products, use of coating compositions, coating compositions, (10) methods of manufacture and methods of recycling.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a handle for a cleaning device, for example, a toothbrush, and a method for the manufacture of such a handle. The handle according to the invention comprises a decoration which is produced by using the in-mould labelling technique. The method described comprises placing a decoration film along at least a part of a wall in a first mould; - moulding in the first mould a first moulding of a first plastic material, so as to obtain a decorated first handle part; placing the first handle part in a second mould; and moulding a second handle part of a second plastic material to the first handle part, the second plastic material at least partly covering a join edge between the decoration film and the first plastic material.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Abstract:
A container (100) having a scented label (110) attached using an in-mold label process and methods of making the same. A scented material is supplied to the label, and the label is attached to the container using an in-mold label process. In another embodiment, a container comprises an interior cavity for retaining a substance, and a label adapted to dispense a scent, wherein the label is disposed on an exterior surface of the container using an in-mold label process. The scent may be suggestive of the content of the container.
Abstract:
A heat-transfer label assembly and an apparatus for applying heat-transfer labels. In a preferred embodiment, the heat-transfer label assembly includes a support. A plurality of labels are positioned over the support for transfer from the support to an article, each of the labels including an ink design. A plurality of spacers are positioned over the support but not over the label, the spacers not being transferable with the labels from the support to an article. The distance from the top of the spacers to the support exceeds the distance from the top of the labels to the support so that, when the assembly is wound into a roll, the labels do not come into contact with the bottom surface of an underlying portion of the support. In a preferred embodiment, the apparatus for applying heat-transfer labels includes a pad, a die- mark reduction device on the pad, a heated die positioned over the pad, and a motor for moving the heated die into and out of engagement with the die-mark reduction device. One type of die-mark reduction device has a top that includes a plurality of recesses spaced apart from one another, the recesses constituting non-contact areas with the die, the spaces between the recesses constituting contact areas with the die.
