Abstract:
The present invention relates to a polymer developed to possess high aspect ratio, anti- reflectivity and super-hydrophobic properties, in other words multi-functionality and a method of fabricating the polymer by bio-mimicking Canna India seed pod, leaf and petal surfaces. Polymer solar cells with anti-reflective as well as super-hydrophobic surface will not only enhance the efficiency but also durability. Further if these properties are achieved in carbon materials which are electrically conductive, one can explore applications in electrode materials in batteries, high performance fuel cells, super-capacitors and bio-sensors.
Abstract:
It is described a method for producing a negative mold (100, 200) for casting a wind turbine blade. The described method comprises directly producing the negative mold based on three dimensional data of the negative mold, wherein for producing the negative mold a milling machine is used. It is further described a manufacturing method for a wind turbine blade by means of the described negative mold. Further, it is described such a negative mold and a wind turbine blade, which has been produced with such a negative mold.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A device and method for graphic transfers for packaging and other 3-D items (40). In the method, a sheet of plastic material (150) is printed with graphical indicia (42, 44, 46, 48, 49) that have been modified to compensate for distortions that take place when the plastic sheet (105) is molded. When the plastic sheet (150) with the modified graphical indicia is molded into the 3-D item, the graphical indicia will be returned to its unaltered form. The machine (100) has upper and lower mold bodies (102, 104) that when brought together to a closed position will tightly seal a plastic sheet (150) therebetween to define an upper air space (105) and a lower air space (107). The machine (100) has a heating source (112) and a mod (108, 162) in the lower mold body (104). The machine (100) is usable to mold plastics sheets bearing modified graphical indicia into 3-D items where the graphical indicia is returned to its unmodified state.
Abstract:
A method and system for de-molding golf balls having a casted layer is disclosed herein. The invention includes exerting a first lateral force against a top mold half (22a) of a mold assembly (20) and exerting a second lateral force against a bottom mold half (22b) of the mold assembly (20) to separate the mold assembly (20) and de-mold the golf balls from the top mold half (22a). Preferably, the mold assembly (20) is used to form a thermoset polyurethane cover over a core and boundary layer. The bottom mold half (22b) may have a double tapered pin (92a, 92b), or a retractable pin with a single taper. The method and system allow for hot de-molding of golf balls from the mold assembly (20).
Abstract:
The present invention provides retroreflective articles having microcubes and tools and methods for forming microcubes. One of the retroreflective articles comprises an array of microcubes; at least one microcube in the array is rectangular (110).
Abstract:
A matrix of optical concentrators (1) characterized essentially in that the concentrators (1) are optically independent rotationally symmetrical reflectors filled with a light-transparent optical material (2) having a refractive index n close to that of the fibre cores. An optical emission or reception assembly, wherein the concentrator matrix provides the coupling between the emitter (or receiver) matrix and an optical fibre matrix, and a method for producing said concentrator matrix, are also provided. Applications: coupling optical fibres with end components.
Abstract:
The mould for producing form castings of resin cast by reaction is formed of two parts (16, 18) providing a form cavity (20). This cavity is located partially inside one of the two parts in which the other part penetrates partially to close said cavity. An annular seal comprised of a pipe (24) filled with a pressure means is mounted between the two parts and delimits the cavity (20); it is fixed to one of the two parts of the mould (18) and arranged against a wall (16a) of the other part (16), orientated substantially parallel to the closing direction One of the parts (16) is kept floating between said joint (24) and the flexible pressure body (12) filled with a pressure means.
