Abstract:
Abstract:
A system for transporting inventory includes an inventory holder and a mobile drive unit. The inventory holder includes a frame capable of storing inventory items and a docking plate capable of receiving a docking head from underneath. The mobile drive unit, includes a docking head capable of coupling to the docking plate and a drive module capable of propelling the mobile drive unit. The mobile drive unit is further capable to move the inventory holder when the docking head is coupled to the inventory holder.
Abstract:
A vehicle, either powered or a trailer (1), having a yoke or U-shaped chassis (2), the tray (3) having parallel posts (13) extending generally upward while the chassis (2) has hollow tubes (12) which mate with the posts (13). Any suitable lifting mechanism preferably hydraulic cylinders (21) located at each corner of the chassis (2) operate simultaneously to raise and lower the tray (3) to maintain substantially the same orientation throughout its movement. A wheel assembly for the chassis comprising first (28) and second (29) trailing arms pivotally suspended from the chassis with wheel mounting stub axles (26, 27) adjacent the free ends, respective connection means (30, 31) adjacent the stub axles (26, 27), a first bracket (36) between the trailing arms (28, 29), and second (39) and third brackets on either side of the first bracket beyond the stud axles (26, 27), a pivoting linkage (37) connecting to the first bracket (36) to two leaf springs (35, 40), the respective connection means (30, 31) connecting the respective trailing arms (28, 29) to the respective leaf springs (35, 40). A hydraulic system for raising and lowering the tray of the vehicle while maintaining its orientation, is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A load-changer for vehicles includes a rotatable cog-wheel (12) that is mounted on the edge of a load-carrier (2) included in the vehicle, and arranged to engage a cog-track on the under side of the load object in question, means being arranged to dampen the tendency of the load object to swing around the cog-wheel in connection with that the centre of gravity of the load object passes the cog-wheel. This damping means includes at least one arm, swingably mounted on the load-carrier, to which arm a spring or piston-cylinder mechanism (19) is connected, that, in connection with the loading of the load object onto the load-carrier (2), keeps the arm inclined upwards from the area of the cog-wheel. By this fact the arm can be brought into engagement with a guide extending along the load object, said mechanism initially counteracting the weight of the load object after that the centre of gravity of the load object has passed the cog-wheel, and then allowing the arm to be successively swung down, and thereby also the load object, into a plane essentially parallel to the load carrier.
Abstract:
A lift interface device for releasably coupling a vehicle to a container, the vehicle of the type engaging the container through a passage under the container, the lift interface device comprises a base adapted to be secured to the vehicle. A frame is positioned over the vehicle and connected to the base with at least a rotational joint adjacent to a leading end of the lift interface device, such that the frame is movable from a coupling orientation to a raised orientation, the frame comprising at least one support surface for supporting the container when the frame is rotated toward the raised configuration, and a container connector at a trailing end of the lift interface device adapted to be used for releasably connecting the container to the frame when the frame is rotated toward the raised configuration; and an actuation unit to rotate and hold the frame relative to the base at desired orientations between the coupling orientation and the raised orientation.
Abstract:
Hoist and transport apparatus for a pick-up truck (12) includes a carrier (22) and a transport assembly (30) for moving the earner between a position on the pick-up truck (12) and a position to the rear of the pick-up truck (12). When on the pick-up truck (12)the carrier (22) and any objects supported thereby are located over the cargo compartment of the pick-up truck (12).

Abstract:
A container handling apparatus (10) for receiving, positioning, engaging and releasing exchangeable chassis or sub-frame mounted containers (18), which may be truck bodies, or the like, capable of readily locking and unlocking a truck body or sub-frame to a supporting chassis (14) is disclosed that is self-contained on the chassis (14). A truck body or container which may be self-supporting is also disclosed
