Abstract:
A hauling vehicle in the form of a so called terminal tractor which at first hand is intended for transporting containers but which also can be used for transporting different kinds of trailers which are provided only with rear wheels. This hauling vehicle is two-axled and is provided at its rear end with connecting means (8) designed to enable an essentially rigid interconnection of the vehicle frame (1) with the front end of the container (14) or the trailer to be hauled. The rear wheels (7) of the hauling vehicle are steerable as well as drivable from the driving motor of the vehicle. Moreover, the rear axle (6) carrying these steerable and drivable wheels (7), is connected to the vehicle frame (1) by means of means (12), e.g. hydraulic cylinders, enabling an adjustment of the vertical position of the vehicle frame relative to the rear axle. After that the vehicle with the rear end of its frame has been rigidly interconnected with the front end of the container, the vehicle frame can be raised relative to the rear axle, whereby the front end of the container is lifted up into the air.The distribution of the weight of the vehicle between the rear axle (6) and the front axle (4) is such that also the front wheels (5) of the vehicle are lifted up into the air. If the rear end of the container has been provided with a temporarily affixed wheel set (15) with hydraulically operable wheels the hauling vehicle according to the invention together with the container will form a drivable equipage whose drivable and steerable front wheels (7) are the rear wheels of the hauling vehicle.
Abstract:
Trailer particularly provided with a device for removing and/or arranging a bundle from and/or in a heat exchanger, comprising at least one wheel axle, wherein the trailer can be coupled to a tractive vehicle, wherein at least one support wheel axle is connectable to the trailer for the purpose of independently supporting the trailer in at least an uncoupled state thereof.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an anti-theft security device for trailers of trucks. The device is comprised of a security lock integrated to the mechanism actuating the props (4) of trailers, acting either mechanically on the lifting-lowering motion transmission mechanism while preventing the gears (2) to mesh or by blocking the bevel gear by means of a metal part fitting between two teeth, or by impeding the rotation of the rotary drive bar connecting the two props, or electrically by cutting the supply of an electric motor (21) supplied by the tractor battery and actuating the props, the mechanical and electrical locks being combinable. The invention applies to the field of road trucks of important loading capacity which are comprised of a tractor part and a trailer part articulated to each other and which may be detached, and is intended to prevent the theft of the trailer when it is not running and uncoupled.
Abstract:
A device for stabilizing a parked freight trailer comprising a frame having at least a right side wheel and a left side wheel, a hitch, a fifth wheel, and at least one of a repositionable wheel chock and a repositionable hook, the device further including a repositioning device to reposition the wheel chock and the hook. A method of stabilizing a parked trailer at a loading dock is also presented, comprising: (a) positioning a wheeled trailer stabilizer underneath a parked freight trailer at a loading dock while landing gear of the parked freight trailer are deployed and a king pin of the parked trailer is accessible; (b) securing the king pin of the parked freight trailer to a fifth wheel of the wheeled trailer stabilizer; (c) deploying a repositionable hook coupled to the frame of the wheeled trailer stabilizer so the repositionable hook couples to a cleat mounted to the ground.
Abstract:
A dolly is disclosed for a semi-trailer that has a compromised structure due to a load shift or an accident The semi-trailer dolly can also be used to extricate a semitrailer stuck under a bridge without damaging the wheels or tires of the semi-trailer In accordance with an important aspect of the present invention, the dolly is configured to provide transverse support of a semi-trailer in an area between the rear axles of the semi-trailer and the front of the semi-trailer More particularly, the dolly is configured to provide a uniform transverse lifting force to a semi-trailer in an area between the rear axles of a semi-trailer and the front of a semi-trailer where a structural failure of the semi-trailer is likely to occur The semi-trailer dolly includes a removable saddle and a wheeled cart that includes lifting mechanisms. The removable saddle can be removed from the wheeled cart.
Abstract:
A tractor (1) adapted to be connected to a semi-trailer (2) and comprising a chassis (3) having at the rear end portion a fifth wheel (9) and behind that a pick up ramp (13) arranged to guide the trailer in position so that a king pin (15) on the trailer can enter an opening in the fifth wheel when the tractor is driven in reverse towards the trailer. The pick up ramp is moveable by power means (17) between an upper tilted pick up position and a lower storage and driving position in which the ramp rests on beams (3a) of the chassis.
Abstract:
A device (1) for mounting on the chassis of a road transport or handling vehicle (39), comprising an assembly for handling and supporting a container (29), including a tipper (17) and a tilting arm (11) as well as a coupling assembly (21) for a semi-trailer (27), including a fifth wheel (21) receiving a semi-trailer kingpin.
Abstract:
Method for providing the lifting effect of a lifting transport trailer, wherein the lifting transport trailer comprises as main parts a frame (u) which has essentially a horizontal carrying plane (KT) or the like, a rotating organ (PE) and a lever mechanism. According to the method, the factors on the quantity of the moments applying at the point of articulation (P) between the second lever frame (N) and the frame (u) are so selected that during shifting of the lifting transport trailer, the lifting transport trailer functions as a stiff body at least in two positions. In the first position, the sum of moments applying at the said point of articulation (P) applies in the first direction so that the lever mechanism formed by the lever frames (M, N) and the said at least one power transmission organ (VE) is supported against the first limiter means (R1) in the frame (u), the carrying plane (KT) being in the lower position. Further according to the method, the factor on the quantity of the moments applying at the point of articulation (P) between the second lever frame (N) and the frame (u) is so changed that the sum of moments applying at the point of articulation (P) of the second lever frame (N) applies in a second direction, opposite to the first direction, wherein during shifting of the lifting transport trailer, the lifting transport trailer functions as a stiff body in the second position so that the lever mechanism formed by the lever frames (M, N) and the said at least one power transmission organ (VE) is supported against the second limiter means (R2) or the like, the carrying plane (KT) being in the upper position. The invention relates also to a lifting transport trailer.
