Abstract:
A system and method for nesting multi-layered trash bags for trash receptacles. The bags preferably each have an elastic member providing compression to securely hold the nested trash bags in relative position until filled and removed. The elastic member is a rubber element or alternatively an elastic drawstring. A rigid member can be utilized in conjunction with the nested trash bags to facilitate the installation of the multi-layered trash bags into the trash can.

Said separator can be coupled to the mouth (3) of a conventional container (4) and consists of a central core (1) that is substantially cylindrical. The bottom and the inside of said separator are provided with coupling means for a plurality of arms (2) emerging from the core (1) in variable numbers, with any given angular separation determined by the user. The outer extremity of said arms (2) ends in hooks (14) for coupling to the mouth (3) of the container. Each arm (2) is a double arm and forms a pair of pliers that is hinged on the inner end thereof and has matching, snap-on means so that the mouth of two plastic bags are located laterally next to one another inside each arm (2), said bags forming jointly with the other bags receptacles for different types of garbage which are thus duly classified with the aim of facilitating subsequent recycling. Said containers can be proportionally and dimensionally adapted to the envisaged number of different types of garbage.

A device for collecting soiled objects, such as used diapers, comprising a collecting container (1) closable by a cover (2) having a cover section (6) with a tubular chamber (7) open at one end providing an inlet/outlet opening (8), said cover section (6) being movable between a first position, in which an object may be deposited from the outside through said opening (8) into said chamber (7), and a second position, in which said object may drop through said opening (8) into the collecting container (1) and a transfer bag (12) of a flexible material removably mounted within said chamber (7), said bag (12) being open at one end and having a bottom cooperating with an expel body (11d) at the opposite end, wherein the collar (12b) of the transfer bag (12) is attached to said opening (8) by a locking ring (13).

A bag retention system and field configurable waste and recycling receptacle and receptacle systems that employ same. The bag retention system includes a peripheral side wall element having an upper portion defining an opening for receiving at least one bag, the peripheral side wall element having a bag opening and support member (e.g. an outwardly extending flange) about which an upper portion of a bag can be wrapped, and a tensioning element located below the flange and coupled to and extending outwardly from the side wall element, the tensioning element having means for releasably securing excess material from an upper portion of a bag, whereby a bag can be inserted in the opening with an upper portion thereof folded over and tightened around flange by pulling the upper portion of the bag taut around the flange and releasably securing the excess material to the tensioning element.

A multi-compartment plastic bag for collecting and retaining a quantity of refuse and a quantity of recyclable items. The multi-part bag provides longitudinal compartments for the receipt of refuse or recycling, each sealed on three sides with a fourth open. The bag is constructed as a single unit and may be separated into multiple components along a perforated mid-seam. Handles may be formed near the upper edge through perforated cutouts. The multi-compartment bag is used in standard trash receptacles. The bag manufacture may be in a continuous multilayer sheet with longitudinal sealed seams along each edge and at least one partial longitudinal sealed seam along an interior mid-seam. The mid-seam may be perforated.

An apparatus for receiving and storing recyclable products for collection, including a storage station (1) having sides and a base (34) defining a confinement volume having a top opening (7), and a removable storage unit (2) supportable substantially within the station. The removable storage unit (2) includes at least one storage container (8) adapted to receive, store and unload a recyclable product. Preferably, the removable storage unit includes a plurality of the storage containers (8, 8), each able to receive and subsequently release the corresponding recyclable product independently of or substantially simultaneously with the other storage containers. The removable storage unit (2) also preferably includes a lifting hoop (12) for lifting it out of the storage station (1), and the bottom (13) of each storage container includes a re-sealable opening through which to permit unloading of the recyclables after the removal storage unit (2) is lifted.
