A positioning apparatus is disclosed for selectively positioning a tubular core (12) axially relative to a core tube (14), the tubular core (14) supporting a web (16) wound thereon. The positioning apparatus includes an elongate housing (18) which defines a bore (20) having a first (22) and a second (24) extremity. The bore (20) receives coaxially therein an end of the core tube (14). A clamp (28) is secured to the end of the core tube (14) which is disposed within the bore (20). The clamp (28) is also secured to the elongate housing (18) for permitting axial movement of the elongate housing (18) relative to the clamp (28). A drive (30) is connected to the elongate housing (28), the drive (30) being drivingly connected to the clamp (28). The arrangement is such that when the drive (30) is rotated to a first location thereof relative to the clamp (28), the elongate housing (18) is disposed in a first axial disposition thereof relative to the clamp (28) so that the elongate housing (18) abuts against and positions the tubular core (12) axially relative to the core tube (14) for permitting winding of the web (16) onto the tubular core (14). However, when the drive (30) is further rotated to a second location thereof relative to the clamp (28), the elongate housing (18) is disposed in a second axial disposition thereof relative to the clamp (28). The second axial disposition of the elongate housing (18) is axially away from the tubular core (12) which is rotatably supported by the core tube (14).

A winder for winding a web to produce a rolled product is provided. The winder includes a web transport apparatus that is used for conveying the web. Also included in one exemplary embodiment is a plurality of independent winding modules. The winding modules are independently positioned to independently engage the web as the web is conveyed by the web transport apparatus. The winding modules may be configured to wind the web to form a rolled product by center winding, surface winding, and combinations of center and surface winding. The winding modules are structurally and operationally independent of one another where if one module is disabled, another may still operate to produce the rolled product without shutting down the winder.

A winder which can accommodate increasing film length while minimizing revision in the design of an existing apparatus. The winder (10) comprises a winding shaft (31) which can support a reel member (50) for winding a specific film in multistage and can move in the rotational and axial direction of the reel member (50), and a drive section (40) for imparting the winding shaft (31) with powers in the rotational and axial direction.

The present invention relates to a method for producing a steel tube (1) comprising the manufacturing of the steel tube (1) with an inner tube wall (2), an outer tube wall, and a free tube cross section (5) enclosed by the inner tube wall (2), wherein after the manufacturing, the steel tube (1) comprises at least one contaminant on the inner tube wall, and entailing, after the manufacturing of the steel tube, cleaning of the inner tube wall. According to the invention, the cleaning of the inner tube wall (2) occurs, with the steps consisting of introducing liquid or solid CO 2 into the free tube cross section (5), and of applying the liquid or solid CO 2 onto the inner tube wall (2) in order to remove the contaminant from the inner tube wall (2).

A storage unit for tubular winding cores (A) is described, comprising an entrance, an exit and an accumulation area between the entrance and the exit. In the accumulation area a feeding path is provided for the tubular winding cores (A), formed by feeding channels (33) overlapping and connected by means of descending branches of falling due to gravity from a feeding channel to the feeding channel below. The tubular winding cores gather along the feeding path, arranging themselves in contact one with the other.
