Abstract:
An apparatus and method for assembling, dispensing and using a laminated paper web transfer tape, an embodiment of the apparatus having a pair of transfer tape spools enclosed within a cartridge dispenser, one transfer tape spool containing a first tape component of the laminated transfer tape and the other transfer tape spool containing a second tape component of the laminated transfer tape, the first tape component being the combination of a substrate having adhesive on both sides and a release liner, the second tape component being a cover flap member having a release coating over at least a majority of one side. The components are unwound from the spools and pressed together such that they become joined along a longitudinal edge strip, then dispensed from the housing. The cover flap member covers one of the adhesive sides of the transfer tape substrate until the moment just prior to transfer of a continuous paper web from a full web spool to an empty web spool, the cover flap member being opened to expose the adhesive by air pressure or resistance. The cartridge dispenser is removed retained within a dispenser frame.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention relates to a reel-up (1) for receiving and winding into a roll (2) a paper web (W) that arrives from a drying cylinder in a paper making machine and for starting a new roll (2) from a tail (19) formed by cutting the paper web (W). The reel-up (1) comprises a rotatably mounted reel spool (3) onto which a paper web (W) can be wound to create a paper roll (2) of increasing diameter; and an endless flexible belt (4) mounted for rotation along a predetermined path of travel such that the flexible belt (4) forms a loop. The flexible belt (4) is positioned adjacent to the reel spool (3) to engage the paper web (W) against the reel spool (3) during winding such that the flexible belt (4) is deflected from the predetermined path of travel by an amount relative to the amount of paper material wound on the reel spool (3). A pair of water nozzles (14, 15) is arranged such that each water nozzle(14, 15) can direct a web-cutting water jet stream against the paper web (W) to cut the paper web (W) at a point before the paper web (W) reaches the flexible belt (4). Each water nozzle (14, 15) is arranged to be movable in a direction which is transverse to the direction of movement of the paper web (W) and a glue nozzle (17) is arranged to direct a stream of glue against the reel spool (3)or against the tail (19). The invention also relates to a corresponding method for operating the reel-up.
Abstract:
A rewinding machine comprising a drawing assembly (01 ), a winding assembly, a core-change assembly (05), and pneumatic means for interrupting the continuity of the ply at the end of a winding cycle, and for starting a new winding cycle.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for exchange of cores in a machine for winding a continuous layer of paper (1 ) drawn by a drawing assembly (2) and wound around a succession of cores (3) by a winding assembly (4), comprising a step of interruption of the continuity of the layer (1 ), via a difference of speed of the layer.
Abstract:
The rewinding machine comprises: a winding unit (1, 3, 5); a feed path of the web material; an insertion path of the winding cores (A); a separator device (25) to sever the web material upon completion of winding each log. The separator device is disposed and produced to be activated by passage of a winding core.
Abstract:
An apparatus for winding an advancing web onto a reel shaft and separating the continuous web from a fully wound reel once completed. The apparatus includes a plurality of nozzles supported in a spaced arrangement in the cross-machine direction. The nozzles are connected to adhesive or fluid supplies and are actuated in the cross-machine direction while dispensing the adhesive or fluid. Coupling of the machine direction advancement of the paper web with the cross-machine direction movement of the nozzles results in a saw toothed severing or adhesive pattern on the web. The nozzles may be individually actuated in sequence or may be actuated simultaneously, such as by attachment to a single member movable by an actuator. Drip guards may be positioned at the beginning and end of the path of each of the nozzles so as to intercept drips of water or adhesive before they fall onto the paper web.
Abstract:
The rewinding machine comprises: a winding system (1, 2, 3) and a feed path for a web material (N) towards said winding system. Along the feed path is a channel for insertion of the cores and an interruption member (23; 101) which acts on the web material.
Abstract:
The rewinding machine comprises: winding elements (1, 3, 5) to wind the web material (N) and form the logs (L1, L2); at least a first glue dispenser (31B) to apply a first glue (C2) to a portion of said web material, in proximity to a severing line, along which the web material is severed upon termination of winding a log. The first glue dispenser comprises a mechanical element (31B) that touches the web material (N) upon termination of winding each log (L1, L2), to transfer the first glue to the web material (N).
Abstract:
A re-pulpable paper tape (10) capable of use in paper pulp bailing applications is disclosed. The paper tape (10) comprises a paper web having a first width, the paper web longitudinally folded to a final width that is less than the first width to form a folded paper tape (10); the folded paper tape (10) having an outer surface (12) and inside surfaces (14); and a re-pulpable adhesive applied to the paper web such that the adhesive covers substantially the entire inside surfaces of the folded paper tape (10), wherein the folded paper tape (10) is strong enough to be used in paper pulp bailing applications. Methods of manufacturing folded paper tape (10) capable of being used in paper pulp bailing applications are disclosed. Systems for bailing paper pulp utilizing folded paper tape are disclosed.
