Abstract:
Disclosed is a printer with two similar printing units (D1, D2) fed with sheetlike material via a common input section (28). Printed material is outputted via a common output section (52). Groups of transport rollers and individual transport rollers are driven by step motors.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and a device for transporting a sheet, in particular after a sheet has been picked off a stack and separated therefrom, preferably for the feeder-side use in a printing machine, wherein the sheet is brought to a transport speed, preferably for transfer to another transport path. The object of the invention is to provide a more controlled method of the aforementioned type and a device allowing this method. In accordance with the invention, considering the method, this object is achieved in that the sheet is initially accelerated to a speed that is greater than the desired transport speed and only later, after a phase of this higher speed, said sheet is slowed to the desired transport speed, in which case the phase of the higher speed is dimensioned such that the affected sheet is in a nominal position at the appropriate time.
Abstract:
A tape drive for use in for example transfer printing apparatus to drive a printer ribbon (6). The printer ribbon is mounted on two spools (17,11) each of which is driven by a respective stepper motor (2, 3). A controller controls the energisation of the motor such that the ribbon is transported in at least one direction between spools mounted on the spool support. The controller is operative to energise both motors to drive the spools of ribbon in the direction of ribbon transport to achieve push-pull operations. Ribbon tension is monitored to enable accurate control of ribbon supply and ribbon take up, the ribbon tension being monitored by monitoring power supply to the two stepper motors.
Abstract:
A press feed apparatus having one of a pair of feed rolls driven by a servo motor. The servo motor includes an output shaft having first and second ends and an output shaft pulley on each of the first and second end. The driven feed roll includes a feed roll pulley at each end of the roll. First and second synchronous timing belts are disposed about each of the first and second output shaft pulleys and each of the first and second feed roll pulleys, respectively, to apply a drive force from the motor to the driven feed roll. The other roll of the pair of feed rolls cooperates with the driven feed roll to advance stock material therebetween.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for processing newspaper-type insert media into a newspaper-type jacket using bottom-up collating presenting an inverted shingled stream onto a conveyor means. A feed system picks inserts off of the top of a stack by a series of grippers. Each insert is layered into an inverted shingled stream using bottom-up collation, collecting downstream inserts and placing them below the upstream insert in the proper order. The inverted stream of the system takes advantage of gravity and aerodynamics to reduce flyaway inserts. The system uses a loop of continuous pocket means to receive collected and collated inserts into one side from a stream, while collecting the jacket part for which the insert is intended, processing each individual jacket in a continuous stream to prepare the jacket to be placed properly for acceptance of the collated inserts in a continuous stream.
Abstract:
A document stacking module comprises a rotatably mounted stacking wheel (10) having at least one generally radially outwardly extending slot (14-16) which can be aligned with a document delivery position so as to receive a document. The wheel (10) is rotatable to a stacking position where the wheel cooperates with a stripper member (19) to extract a document from the slot whereby the document is stacked at the stacking position. A motor rotates the stacking wheel (10). A control system controls operation of the motor. The outer surface of part (22) of the stacking wheel (10) is shaped so that, when said part is presented to the document delivery position, the document fed through the document delivery position towards the stacking wheel engages the shaped part of the outer surface of the stacking wheel and is diverted away from the stacking wheel.
Abstract:
A belt step conveyor system with high accurate position capabilities due to a moving belt gripper (60,61) mounted on a linear movement system to convey the conveyor belt (1) rotating about a plurality of pulleys (40, 41) in successive distance movements while the moving belt gripper engaged the conveying belt and the moving belt gripper is moved from a home position to an end position by the linear movement system. The conveyor belt is stagnated by the engaging of a stagnating belt gripper while the moving belt gripper moves back to its home position else the stagnating belt gripper has released the conveyor belt.
