Abstract:
A system and method for making advanced composite laminates includes a tape dispensing system, a tape placement head, and a tooling surface. Tape sections are formed and moved through a tape section guide using a gripping assembly. The tape section guide system is suspended over the tooling surface. Once the tape section is positioned over a desired location on the tooling surface, a tape tacking device tacks or otherwise attaches the tape section to the tooling surface or another underlying tape section.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and to a device for conveying planar products (12), particularly folded printed products. At a transfer point (A), the products (12) are inserted with the leading edges (14) thereof ahead into compartments (22) of a revolving system (20) in the form of a paddle wheel, said compartments moving along a closed revolving path (U), and removed from the compartments (22) at a transfer point (B) by means of grippers (32) of a gripper conveyor (30) and conveyed away. According to the invention, the products are seized by the grippers (32) at the trailing edges (16). The seizing of the trailing edge (16), which preferably is not the folded open product edge, has the advantage that it can be implemented without a complicated engagement of the revolving system (20) and gripper conveyor (30) and that the further conveyance and further processing of the products (12) are simplified.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for monitoring and/or controlling a transport device (10) wherein a plurality of similar products (17), in particular printed products, such as newspapers, magazines or similar are held in a detachable manner by means of individual clamps (12) that are arranged in a row, one behind the other, and are transported in sequence along a transport path (19). Improved operational reliability and controllability is characterised in that a contract-free read-in or read-out tag (T1-T5, Tn) is provided on the clamps (12), and that a reading-in/reading-out device (30) is disposed in the vicinity of the respective clamp for reading-in or reading-out data in the tags of a clamp (12), and is displaced with the respective clamp (12) over a selected section of the transport path (19).
Abstract:
Abstract:
According to the invention, the printed products (3) are delivered to a transfer position (4) by means of a delivery system (1) with a constant speed (v1) while forming an imbricated structure (S), in which the intervals (al-a4) between successive printed products (3) are different. The section-by-section transfer of the printed products (3) is carried out at said transfer position by the gripping elements (12) of a removal device (2). These gripping elements (12) are arranged in a fixed interval (D) behind one another in a direction of delivery (B) of the removal device (2). Measures are now taken with which the printed products (3) are introduced into the jaws (15) of the gripping elements (12) at a constant speed (v1) and without altering the interval (a1-a4) between successive printed products (3). The printed products are introduced into said jaws so that each gripping element (12) transports away the number of printed products (3) delivered thereto with the same mutual interval (a', a'') as in the delivered imbricated structure formation (S). A deflection device (16) ensures that after a gripping element (12) receives a number of printed products (3), the subsequent printed products (3) are respectively introduced into the next gripping element (12) without altering the mutual interval (a1-a4) thereof.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for receiving and/or conveying flat products (14), especially printing products, by means of individual grippers (1). The invention comprises a receiving and/or conveying section (12) along which the grippers (1) can be conveyed, and the limbs (9) support opened grippers (1) against one another in the area of the grippers, said grippers being arranged in succession. The invention also comprises a gripper closing device (15) which can be actuated after inserting a product (14) into an opened gripper (1), and/or a releasing device which can be actuated when a product (14) is released from the gripper (1). The receiving and/or conveying section (12) is curved in a convex manner in order to enlarge the maximum possible opening of the gripper.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a clamp (10) for holding sheet-like objects, having a support (12) on which a clamp tongue (20) is fixed. A clamping jaw (32) is stored in a guide slot (30) in the support (12) in such a way that it can move both in and against the direction of closing (S). When the clamping jaw (32) moves from open position (34) in closing direction (S), the clamp end (42) is displaced along the path of movement (46), until it rests against the clamp tongue (20) or an adjacent object. As the clamping jaw (32) continues to move in closing direction (S), the clamp end is driven back from the path of movement (46), and a clamping force for holding the object is formed as a result of the elasticity of the clamping jaw (32).
Abstract:
The conveyor line (1) of a conveyor has a branching point (6) with a switch (7). This switch has a pivotable switching member (8) which in one position lies in this conveyor line (1) and in the other position connects this first conveyor line (1) with a second conveyor line (10). Preceding the branching point (6) is a retaining member (11) that can be inserted into the path of movement of the transport elements (2) conveyed along the conveyor line (1). This retaining member (11) can be used to hold back the transport elements (2) approaching the branching point in order to create room for changing over the switching member (8). The transport elements are independent of one another, which makes it possible, selectively and as required, either to move the oncoming transport elements (2) along the first conveyor line (1) or to divert them into the second conveyor line (10).
Abstract:
The printed products (1) arranged in an overlapping position (S) are dispatched towards two stacking units (8, 9) by means of a conveying installation (2) provided with pincers (3) arranged one after the other in the conveying direction (A). These stacking units (8, 9) are arranged in tandem and under the conveying installation (2). The device (4, 5) for opening the pincers (3) is fixed above each stacking unit (8, 9). One of the two opening devices (4, 5) is in a state of engagement in which it opens the pincers when they are moving past. The printed products (1) are carried away by the conveying installation (2), over the stacking spaces (10, 11) of the stacking units (8, 9). The products (1') released by the opening of the pincers (3) over a stacking space (10 or 11) fall and arrive after a short free fall hence the stacking space (10 or 11). During the stacking of products (1) in one of the stacking units (8), the other unit (9) is inactive thereby allowing the stacking space (11) to be emptied. Thereafter, the opening device (4) is disengaged and the other one (5) engaged so as to stack the products in the second stacking unit (9).
