Abstract:
The present invention is directed to correction tapes having dye migration blocking properties. More specifically, the present invention includes a correction tape having a dye migration barrier. The dye migration barrier comprises an organic material that serves as a physical barrier to prevent dye from migrating from the lower corrected layer to the visible surface. Additionally, the present invention is directed to a process for the manufacture of a correction tape having a dye migration barrier.
Abstract:
A decorative dry paint wall film includes a layer of dry paint (12), a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer (18) on one side of the dry paint layer, and a release liner (20) in releasable contact with the dry paint layer on a side opposite from the pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA). The release liner has a matte release coat layer (22) that contacts the dry paint layer (12). The release liner is released from the dry paint layer after the PSA side is attached to a wall. The matte release coat transfers a matte finish to the dry paint layer when the release liner is removed. The wall film includes a barrier layer (16) to protect against significant discoloration of the color in the dry paint layer caused by migration of azo-type pigments from a painted wall surface. The barrier layer in one embodiment comprises a dry emulsion containing ethylene-vinyl alcohol and a dispersed polymeric material which in one embodiment comprises a urethane material.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a multi-layered film for the application to a metal or plastic surface, comprising a protective layer (A) as a first layer, which is a poly(alkyl methacrylate) film comprising at least one hindered amine light stabilizer and at least two different ortho-hydroxy tris-aryl triazine UV absorbers selected from compounds of formulae (7) and (8); a barrier layer (B), a base layer (C), an adhesive layer (D) as last layer, and wherein barrier layer (B) and/or base layer (C) comprise at least one pigment. The multi-layered films are especially suitable for the application to the surface of automobiles.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a multi-layer polyolefin film including a polyolefin barrier layer and an adhesive layer. The barrier layer includes a first polyolefin having a flexural modulus (1% secant) less than about 410 MPa and a second polyolefin having a melting temperature greater than about 140o C. The first polyolefin is preferably a propylene-ethylene copolymer comprising from about 3 wt% to about 45 wt% of the barrier layer and the second polyolefin is preferably a polypropylene impact copolymer comprising from about 55 wt% to about 97 wt% of the barrier layer. The adhesive layer includes a maleic anhydride grafted polyolefin or a polyesteramide (PEA) based coating. The multi-layer film is bonded to a synthetic fabric, such as nylon or polyester, and useful for airbag applications.
