摘要:
Electrically conductive synthetic fiber and fibrous substrate (e.g. synthetic leather) are disclosed. The electrically conductive polymeric fiber and polymeric fibrous substrate are made electrically conductive by the use of an electrically conductive polymer disposed on the fibers and in contact with inorganic desiccant particles located at the surface of the fibers. The new material finds utility as an electrode for devices and as a resistive heating element, and as a pathway to efficient thermoelectrics.

Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to coating compositions, coated articles, and methods in which the coated article is adapted to exhibit a particular permeance profile, such as, for example, a variable water vapor perm rating of about 1 perm or less at 25% average RH and about 15 perms or more at 95% average relative humidity, as tested by ASTM E96 at 21 C.

Disclosed herein are methods of producing externally stabilized, poromeric synthetic leathers having improved peel strength, the methods comprising: preparing a prepolymer from a mixture comprising at least one polyester polyol, at least one polyether polyol, at least one isocyanate and optionally in a solvent; mixing the prepolymer, water, and a first surfactant; optionally add a second chain extender to form a PUD; preparing a mixture comprising said PUD, at least one surfactant, and at least one thickener; frothing said mixture; applying the frothed mixture to a fabric and thereby fomiing a coated fabric; adjusting the thickness of the frothed mixture on the coated fabric; drying the coated fabric. Methods of improving the peel strength of poromeric synthetic leathers are also disclosed. Externally stabilized synthetic leathers having improved peel strength are also disclosed.

A protective drainage wrap (10) comprises a polymeric spunbonded portion (116) being adapted to allow water vapor to flow therethrough and a plurality of fibers, filaments, tapes or yarn (112) being attached to the polymeric spunbonded portion (116). The plurality of fibers, filaments, tapes or yarn (112) forms a plurality of channels to assist in forming a drainage path for draining liquid moisture from the protective drainage wrap (110).

The present invention relates to a manufacture obtained by coupling a cross-linkable resin with a non-woven fabric comprising a microfibrous felt, prepared starting from polyester or polyamide microfibres and impregnated with a polyurethane or polyurea matrix. The product exhibits a soft, undulated appearance, but has a surprisingly rigid consistency to the touch. The manufacture is obtained by means of the rotational moulding technique, using a mould of the desired shape, or else without the use of a mould, by imparting a bag shape to the non-woven fabric.

Bioremediation geocomposite articles, and their method of manufacture, for treating (digesting) contaminants in soil or water. The bioremediating geocomposite mat includes a woven or non- woven geotextile, having a thickness of about 6 mm to about 200 mm. In the preferred embodiment, outer layers of the geocomposite article have a porosity sufficient to receive a powdered or granular contaminant-reactive material, contaminant-sorptive material, or a contaminant-neutralizing material in at least outer portions of the thickness across its entire major surface(s) for better contact of the bacteria with contaminants held by the powdered or granular material. In the most preferred embodiment, liquid-permeable cover sheets are adhered to the upper and lower major surfaces of the bacterial-containing geotextile article to prevent a powdered or granular material from escaping from the geotextile during transportation and installation.
摘要:
A protective drainage wrap (10) comprises a first portion (12) and a second portion (14). The first portion (12) comprises cross-woven or cross-laminate material in the machine direction (12a) and in the transverse direction (12b). The material in the machine direction (12a) comprises a polyolefin, polyester, nylon or combinations thereof and has a first thickness. The material in the transverse direction (12b) comprises a polyolefin, polyester, nylon or combinations thereof and has a second thickness. The second thickness is at least about 2 times greater than the first thickness so as to assist in providing drainage for moisture build-up. The second portion (14) is a coating comprising a polyolefin, polyester, nylon or combinations thereof. The first portion (12) and second portion (14) are located adjacent to each other. According to one embodiment, the material in the transverse direction (12b) is yarn.
