In accordance with the present disclosure there is provided a method of bioremediation of organic contaminated water within an annulus of an oil lubricated shaft, the method comprises: (a) introducing into the annulus of said oil lubricated shaft an amount of a bioremediation combination comprising (i) a microbial cocktail capable of biodegrading the organic contaminants and (ii) nitrogen source, such that said bioremediation combination is brought into contact with water suspected of being contaminated in said annulus; and (b) supply into said annulus oxygen source for a time sufficient for biodegradation of at least a portion of said organic contaminants in the water within the annulus.

A formulation for the bioremediation of soil or groundwater includes from about 80 to 95% of an emulsifiable C4-C22 vegetable oil selected from the group consisting of soybean oil, coconut oil, rapeseed (canola) oil, peanut oil, crambe oil, sunflower oil and combinations thereof; and from about 5 to 20% of an emulsifier selected from the group consisting of a vegetable oil derived from a C16-C20 fatty acid ester or a mixture of such esters. The efficacy of the formulation is improved by adding hydrogen-enriched water to the emulsifiable oil as a dilution fluid.

A method of treating wastewater includes removing BOD and ammonium from the wastewater. The wastewater is directed into a tank where it is mixed with mixed liquor or activated sludge from an activated sludge wastewater treatment system. The mixture of wastewater and mixed liquor or activated sludge forms a mixed liquor stream. The mixed liquor stream is directed to a ballasted flocculation system where suspended solids is removed from the wastewater. This produces a clarified effluent that is directed to a zeolite tank. Clarified wastewater from the ballasted flocculation system is directed into the zeolite tank and mixed with zeolite. Zeolite is effective to remove ammonium from the wastewater. Thus, the process as a whole is effective in removing suspended solids, soluble BOD as a result of mixing the mixed liquor or activated sludge with the wastewater, and ammonium.

A method and apparatus for conditioning water is disclosed. Water is flowed past a probe, wherein the water may include impurities. The probe is energized to excite the water and a presence of electrons in the excited water is reduced to produce positively charged water downstream of the probe that causes the impurities to dissociate from the water. The excited water may be deposited on a soil for crop production. The excited water may be further deposited on the soil to flush impurities in the soil to a depth away from a root of a crop planted in the soil to reclaim the soil for crop production. The excited water may further be used to descale pipes, such as used in irrigation, heat exchangers, cooling systems, etc. In yet another embodiment, the probe may be energized at a frequency selected to destroy organism, thereby protecting ecosystems.
