Abstract:
A safety barrier unit comprises a plurality of eight aligned tubes (2). Each tube (2) comprises a row of co-axial tyres (4) held together by a first restraining means (6). An outer restraining means (20) is adapted to hold the tubes (2) together in alignment. The tyres (4) are held together in stacked rows, and the rows are held in alignment whereby the barrier unit is provided with an organised presentation of the tyres (4) to any impact, leading to more controlled and organised shock absorption.
Abstract:
A shock absorbing member that is particularly suitable for use as a part of a crash barrier system for motor vehicles is disclosed. The shock absorbing member includes a matrix formed from granulated rubber bonded together by a glue.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a road barrier device (1) comprising at least one crush barrier (2), whereby said device further comprises at least one inflatable cushion (2), which cushion is provided for containing a gas under over pressure and for mounting in longitudinal direction of said cushion, against said crush barrier. The cushion is preferably divided in two or more compartments by means of a partition wall (4) that is substantially parallel with the bottom of the cushion. The invention also relates to a crash barrier device, comprising an inflatable cushion, which is divided in at least two compartments. The bottom compartment is provided for containing a liquid. The upper compartment contains a gas under an over pressure.
Abstract:
Protective fence for the go-kart tracks according to the invention includes base plates that are placed on the surface, where the track is to be set up taking into account each track's route. On their bottom side, the base plates have a lining that features a high coefficient of friction depending on the various types of surface where the go-kart tracks are set up; the base plates may also be made entirely from the high- friction coefficient material depending on each track's surface type. The base plates are available in different dimensions and are with part of their surface always reaching onto the driving surface. On top of the base plates - on their surface which is not reaching onto the driving surface - units are placed, which are attached in a detachable fashion onto the base plates. The construction and dimensions of the base plates enables execution of different curves as required by each track's planned route. Owing to the material featuring high coefficient of friction, the base plates do not need to be anchored into the ground in any additional manner to prevent slipping, meaning that after disassembling the track the surface remain intact and undamaged. Since part of the base plate's surface is always reaching onto the driving surface, whenever a vehicle happens to collide with the fence, the vehicle first drives onto the base plate's surface, thus further preventing the unit from rising above the vehicle.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present disclosure relate generally to macro-patterned materials and methods of their use in connection with vehicle arresting systems. Certain embodiments provide 3-D folded materials, honeycombs, lattice structures, and other periodic cellular material structures, that can be used for arresting vehicles. The materials can be engineered to have properties that allow them to reliably crush in a predictable manner under pressure from a vehicle. The materials can be formed into various shapes and combined in various ways in order to provide the desired properties.
Abstract:
A frontal-impact crash barrier (1) for use in automobile or motorcycle racing circuits, comprising a plurality of impact-absorbing units (2) arranged in reciprocal contact, each in turn comprising: a longitudinal body (3) having an external lateral body (15), which is hollow and which is arranged vertically; and a plurality of annular elements (4) which are inserted along the longitudinal body (3) so as to externally embrace the longitudinal body (3) and which are stacked on one another so as to enclose the longitudinal body (3) so that the external lateral body (15) of the longitudinal body (3) is entirely facing the plurality of annular elements (4). The longitudinal body (3) of each impact-absorbing unit (2) can be made of metal. Each transversal section of the longitudinal body (3) of each impact-absorbing unit (2) has a thickness forming a polygon having five sides, or six sides or seven sides.
Abstract:
A catch fence for halting the overrun of a car leaving a racetrack, comprising at least two pivotable poles, each pole comprising a pivot point along the pole or at its base; at least one cable extending between the at least two poles; and at least one portion of net or fencing installed between the poles, supported by the at least one cable.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to differing embodiments of safety trailers, which have first and second platforms and a safety wall positioned therebetween. The platforms and safety wall define an area protected from vehicular incursions. In a first mode, an asphalt roller engages a road surface while a set of rubber wheels do not, and, in a second mode, the set of rubber wheels engages the road surface while the asphalt roller does not.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A crash barrier for motor racing circuits comprises a multiplicity of crash barrier elements (2) which are engaged with one another. Each element includes an outer PVC cover. In one embodiment, the cover encloses a foam inner member which comprises an outer reconstituted foam region (10) and an inner foam region (12). In another embodiment, the cover encloses an inner foam region (22) which is covered by a laminar sheet material (24).
