Self-adjusting, regulated stabiliser for installation and adjustment, in particular of construction elements, comprising of at least of adjustable part (1) of the joint (5) cooperating via the joint with connector (3) equipped with a tool socket (2). The method of installation of the self-adjusting stabiliser and/or set of stabilisers of distance to the substrate (7), wherein the distance stabiliser according to the invention is anchored to the substrate (7) using any known technique, the designed distance between the adjustable part (1) of the joint (5) to the substrate is defined, and then the installed element (4) is affixed to the adjustable part (1) of the joint (5), for example a construction lining in slabs or tiles.

A method of releasably fastening objects together includes providing a first object (101, 201, 701, 901, 1101, 1301) with a continuous hook fastener membrane (100, 200, 700, 900, 1100, 1200, 1300, 1500, 1500') having a base of thermoplastic resin and an array of hook fastener elements (102, 202, 702, 902, 1102, 1202, 1302, 1502) formed contiguously with resin of one side of base; and releasably engaging complementary loop fastener elements (104, 204, 704, 904, 1104, 1204, 1304, 1504) of a second object (103, 203, 703, 903, 1103, 1203, 1303, 1503) to the fastener selements of the first object. The method is improved wherein the base of the fastener membrane is a permanently stretched sheet of resin having a width of at least 61 cm (2 feet), a length greater than its width and a thickness of less than about 0.38 mm (0.015 inch). Advantageous variations of fastening membranes, and methods of making and using them in building storing/protecting, and decorating applications are also disclosed.

This application discloses a relatively thin flexible anchor sheet for installation under carpets or other decorative coverings and a covering module composed of a pre-attached decorative covering and anchor sheet which can be assembled by overlapping hook and loop attachment to an additional covering module to create a complete floor covering of carpet, tile, stone or other material and without substantial attachment to a floor.

A cladding system (2) for cladding a surface (4), the cladding system (2) comprising: (i) at least one panel (6) which is of a composite nature and which comprises a viewing sheet (8) which is made of a material to be viewed; and (ii) releasable securing means (10) for releasably securing the panel (6) to the surface (4); and the cladding system (2) being such that: (iii) the releasable securing means (10) is a two-part releasable securing means (10), with a first part (12) being on the panel (6) and a second part (14) being for securing to the surface (4); (iv) the first part (12) is secured to the panel (6) by at least one adhesive sheet (16) which has adhesive on both of its sides; and (v) the releasable securing means (10) enables the panel (6) to be removed from the surface (4) and used again.

A material for covering a surface of a home or building is provided in the form of a flexible laminate having a fastening side comprising a sheet-form fastener component, and an opposite side formed by a sheet of paper laminated to the fastener component to increase the dimensional stability of the fastener component for covering and fastening over a wide area. The fastener component can have either hooks or loops. The laminate is particularly useful for laying flooring with low backlash between adjacent pieces.

A wall surface covering system comprising: a wall surface covering for covering an underlying vertical support surface constituted by a wall, said wall surface covering comprising a rigid body; a first component of a hook-and-loop fastener fixable to the rigid body of the wall surface covering; and a second component of the hook-and-loop fastener that is fixable to the underlying vertical surface. The first and second components are cooperable such that,when the first component is fixed to the surface covering and the second component is fixed to the underlying vertical surface, the first and second components can be engaged to cause the wall surface covering to grip the wall. The first and second components are configured to cooperate to provide a fastening having a pull strength and a shear strength that are high enough to hold the surface covering in position on the vertical support surface, and a peel strength that is low enough to allow removal of the surface covering from the underlying surface by peeling the rigid body away from the wall.
