Abstract:
A kit that includes multiple rectilinear elongate polygonal elements having five unique shapes, four of which are concave polygonal elements. In some examples, when arranged with respect to one another, the elements of the kit form a girih strapwork pattern. In one aspect, respective elements in a kit may include bezels or boarders along longer sides to enhance an over/under weaving effect of the girih strapwork pattern. In other aspects, one or more elements may be formed as a tray, and some of the trays may include various components or materials disposed in the tray (e.g., architectural surface materials, biological systems, various electronic components) to provide for a variety of creative designs and structural/sculptural installations for built environments. In some implementations, one or more such trays may have beveled rims so as to appear light and thin when viewed.
Abstract:
A stay-in-place lining is provided for lining a structure fabricated from concrete. The lining comprises a plurality of panels connectable via complementary connector components on their longitudinal edges. Each panel comprises a first connector component on a first longitudinal edge thereof and a second (complementary) connector component on a second longitudinal edge thereof. The lining comprises at least one edge-to-edge connection between the first connector component of a first panel and the second connector component of a second panel, the edge-to-edge connection comprising a protrusion of the first panel extended into a receptacle of the second panel through a receptacle opening. The receptacle is shaped to prevent removal of the protrusion from the receptacle and the receptacle is resiliently deformed by the extension of the protrusion into the receptacle to thereby apply a restorative force to the protrusion to maintain the edge-to-edge connection.
Abstract:
A bracket (500) for forming a tiled transition between a first surface and a second surface forming an inside corner, comprises: a first base portion (510) securable to the first surface; a second base portion (512) securable to the second surface; a receiving slot (520) angled with respect to the first and second surfaces for receiving a tile strip to form the tiled transition; and a channel (525-1, 525-2) adjacent to the receiving slot, the channel for receiving a filler material. The invention concerns also a bracket connector comprising: a first end sized to connect with an end of a first bracket having a tile receiving slot for forming a first tiled transition between two surfaces; and a second end sized to connect with an end of a second bracket having a tile receiving slot for forming a second tiled transition.
Abstract:
Wall blocks, veneers, veneer connectors, walls, and methods of constructing walls are provided. More particularly, the invention relates to constructing walls in which a veneer panel is attached to a wall block with a connector and in which the front faces of the veneers have a desirable texture.
Abstract:
A trim strip assembly is provided for use on a corner formed by at least two sheets of drywall. The trim strip assembly includes a trim strip body extending along a body axis that may extend longitudinally, and the trim strip body may have at least one inside surface 18. The trim strip assembly also includes an adhesive layer formed over at least a portion of the at least one inside surface of the trim strip body, the adhesive layer having a softening point range such that when the adhesive layer is heated to a temperature within the softening point range, the adhesive layer bonds to at least one of the at least two sheets of drywall to secure the trim strip body to the at least one of the at least two sheets of drywall.
Abstract:
A siding system has elongated stringers, each having a plurality of clips spaced at regular intervals along its length. In use, the stringers can be mounted upright, spaced apart and parallel, on an upright wall, and aligned so that the clips are in horizontal rows. A siding panel has a plurality of elongated connectors, spaced apart and parallel, on a rear face, in use, the panel can be mounted upright, with the connectors horizontal, and each connector engaged in the clips of one of the horizontal rows of clips so that the weight of the panel is supported by the clips of a plurality of the horizontal rows of clips through the connectors.
Abstract:
A vertical wall mount system is provided that is easily installed in a perfectly level and plumb manner and is further cable of being design to be completely waterproof, interchangeable and customizable to include endless additional features. The vertical wall mount system includes two main components: a sub-frame assembly and a panel frame assembly. The sub-frame assembly includes mounting clips for pivotal attachment to a wall frame, such as, a standard 2x4 stud. Horizontal wall rails are mounted on the mounting clips to create the sub-frame assembly. The horizontal wall rails are designed to support a panel assembly on the horizontal wall rails, which may, for example, include a tile panel. The panel assembly includes a panel frame secured to the back side of the panel, which panel assembly is designed to hang on the horizontal wall rails of the sub-frame assembly.
Abstract:
A construction profile (1) with a polygonal cross-section and edge portions provided with slots formed between adjacent polygon faces (7) and extending in an inclined direction relative thereto, a construction profile kit with said construction profile and joint profiles, and an fixing system for ventilated claddings with a supporting frame of construction profiles (1). The fixing system further comprises a supporting element (21) for supporting a frame profile (1) to a facade (87) and a holding plate (26) for holding facade plates (83), the elements (21, 26) being formed so as to be slid longitudinally or plugged circumferentially into the slots (5) of the construction profile (1).
Abstract:
In accordance with the present inventive concept, there is provided a suspended ceiling comprising a ceiling tile (500) and a grid of profiles forming a frame which supports the ceiling tile (500). The ceiling tile (500) has a first and a second pair of non-adjacent side-edge portions, wherein the grid of profiles engages from below with the first pair of side-edge portions, and wherein the grid of profiles engages from above with the second pair of side-edge portions. The grid of profiles engages with said first and second pair of side-edge portions such that a clamping action that counteracts lateral displacement of the ceiling tile (500) is provided. There is also provided a method for mounting the suspended ceiling. Furthermore, the present inventive concept also relates to an improved ceiling tile (500) for a suspended ceiling.
