摘要： Embodiments of a system and a method for manufacturing calcined gypsum can include an in-line calcination control device having an x-ray analyzer. The x-ray analyzer is adapted to analyze at least one of the calcined gypsum being discharged from the calciner and the calcined gypsum being fed into a mixer of a gypsum boardline. The x-ray analyzer is configured to determine the proportion of different calcium sulphate phases found therein which can be used to control at last one of the calciner and the boardline.

摘要： A gasket for installation in a gap defined by adjacent modular construction units, each having a support frame. The gasket includes at least one layer of structural cement panel; and at least one layer of mineral wool, and the at least one layer of said panel and mineral wool has at least one plate recess configured for accommodating a support plate. A modular building construction is provided, including a plurality of modular units, each unit having a steel frame. Four adjacent units of the plurality form an intersection, and support plates are fastened at upper surfaces of corners formed by each frame. The gasket is disposed in a gap defined at the intersection, the gasket having four plate recesses for accommodating the support plates. In still another embodiment, a method of constructing a building made of modular units including the gasket.

摘要： Disclosed is an acid-modified flour and a method of making the acid- modified flour. The acid-modified flour is desirably prepared using a dry milling process. A starting flour is combined with a strong acid to form a mixture. The mixture is heated. A neutralizer is added to increase the pH of the mixture. If desired, the mixture can be dried and any agglomerates can be removed. The acid-modified flour can be used as a binder in a slurry for preparing one or more gypsum layers in a gypsum board. Claimed is a method of making gypsum board comprising: (a) forming an acid-modified flour (b) adding the acid-modified flour to at least water and stucco to form a slurry; (c) disposing the slurry to form a gypsum board core between a first cover sheet and a second cover sheet to form a wet assembly; (d) cutting the wet assembly into the gypsum board; and (e) drying the gypsum board. Claimed is a slurry comprising water, stucco, and at least one acid- modified flour having a hot water viscosity of from 50 BU to 420 BU, as measured according to the HWVA test.

摘要： Aqueous cementitious slurries including predominantly Type I Portland cement containing an aluminate additive. The aluminate additive is an aluminate salt other than calcium aluminate or calcium sulfoaluminate, preferably sodium aluminate. Cementitious reactive powders of the slurry include the Type I Portland cement and 0.1-10 wt. % of the aluminate additive as an accelerator. The slurries may have a set time of about 10 minutes or less. Due to the short set time, the cementitious reactive powders may facilitate cement board fabrication by continuous manufacturing processes. Methods for making cement boards may include disposing the aqueous cementitious slurry including the cementitious reactive powders in a continuous layer, preferably upon a porous support, and setting the aqueous cementitious slurry with a set time of about 10 minutes or less.

摘要： Gypsum boards formed from synthetic gypsum and other gypsum sources having high chloride salt concentrations. Gypsum boards may include a board core including set gypsum. A total concentration of the chloride anion in the board core ranges from about 500 ppm to about 3000 ppm, typically about 1000 ppm to about 3000 ppm, based on weight of the calcium sulfate hemihydrate. An inner surface of a front paper cover sheet contacts a first face of the board core. An inner surface of a back paper cover sheet contacts a second face of the board core. A starch layer coats the inner surface of at least one of the front and back cover sheet. Methods of making the gypsum board, and a wall system for employing the gypsum boards, are also provided.
