The x-ray analyzer is adapted to analyze at least one of the calcined gypsum being discharged from the calciner and the calcined gypsum being fed into a mixer of a gypsum boardline.     摘要: Disclosed is an acid-modified flour and a method of making the acid- modified flour. The acid-modified flour is desirably prepared using a dry milling process. A starting flour is combined with a strong acid to form a mixture. The mixture is heated. A neutralizer is added to increase the pH of the mixture. If desired, the mixture can be dried and any agglomerates can be removed. The acid-modified flour can be used as a binder in a slurry for preparing one or more gypsum layers in a gypsum board. Claimed is a method of making gypsum board comprising: (a) forming an acid-modified flour (b) adding the acid-modified flour to at least water and stucco to form a slurry; (c) disposing the slurry to form a gypsum board core between a first cover sheet and a second cover sheet to form a wet assembly; (d) cutting the wet assembly into the gypsum board; and (e) drying the gypsum board. Claimed is a slurry comprising water, stucco, and at least one acid- modified flour having a hot water viscosity of from 50 BU to 420 BU, as measured according to the HWVA test.

    摘要: Aqueous cementitious slurries including predominantly Type I Portland cement containing an aluminate additive. The aluminate additive is an aluminate salt other than calcium aluminate or calcium sulfoaluminate, preferably sodium aluminate. Cementitious reactive powders of the slurry include the Type I Portland cement and 0.1-10 wt. % of the aluminate additive as an accelerator. The slurries may have a set time of about 10 minutes or less. Due to the short set time, the cementitious reactive powders may facilitate cement board fabrication by continuous manufacturing processes. Methods for making cement boards may include disposing the aqueous cementitious slurry including the cementitious reactive powders in a continuous layer, preferably upon a porous support, and setting the aqueous cementitious slurry with a set time of about 10 minutes or less.
