According to the invention, the slipform sides have no connecting yoke. The horizontal concrete pressure against the slipform sides, during the casting process, is transferred by vertically or obliquely upright guide beams (7) down to the underlying finished, hardened slipform-cast concrete wall (8). Without a connecting yoke, there is no physical obstacle to lifting in, with a crane for direct installation in the slip, industrially prefabricated cages (13) of vertical reinforcing bars or mats (21) of horizontal reinforcing bars.

The invention provides an assembly (1) and an improved method of constructing a concrete tower. The method includes steps of erecting a central pillar (2), mounting a platform (3) on the central pillar (2), setting a slipform defining a portion of the concrete tower, pouring liquid concrete from the plat- form into the slipform (4), and leaving the liquid concrete to solidify in the slipform (4). The slipforming repeats to form further portions of the concrete tower. Each of the further portions of the concrete tower is formed on top of a preceding one of the portions of the concrete tower. The assembly (1) includes a central pillar (2), at least one slipform (4) and a platform (3) mountable on the central pillar (2) and comprising means for pouring liquid concrete into the at least one slipform (4).
