A roll-up door (10) with slats (60) rolled on a reel (12) with spiral guides (32) that maintain a tangent between the reel (12) and the closure plane at the point of entry/exit so as to maintain a perpendicular entry and exit with the side guides (36) and reduce friction, increase speed, reduce noise and help keep self-aligning end caps tracking correctly. It can also eliminate hinges between slats and permit each slat to be removed independently, without disassembling the other slats.

The closure apparatus is characterised in that, when the closure member (21) is in an extended position, the first weather sealing means (32) is placed under compression and when said closure member (21) is in a retracted position, the first weather sealing means (32) is substantially relieved of said compression.

An alarm system for rolling shutter comprised of plurality of alarm sensors is described. An alarm sensor is comprised of a conductive wire that is threaded within a slat and is connected in both sides to slat edge elements. The slat edge elements have a moving electrical contact that can be pulled out towards the inner wall of the shutter rail by a magnet. In selected heights along the rails, on both rails, a rail electric element comprising a magnet and a rail electrical contact are installed. A wire is connected from each rail electrical contact to an alarm control box. When the slat, which includes the slat-wire, is positioned in the same height as the rail electric elements, the moving contact on the slat makes a contact with the rail electric contact, thus creating a continuous electrical circuit from one rail electrical contact, through the slat, to the second rail electric contact. An attempt to move a slat, move the rails or cut the slat, will open the electrical circuit and generate an alarm, signal. An attempt to bypass the electrical circuit is detected by the change in the line resistance.

The slatted shutter has at the extremities of its slats (1) sliding means (21) which run through the corresponding vertical lateral guides (3) and through conformed labyrinthian guides (4), as an upper extension of the former, in the internal sides of the box (23). The labyrinthian guide (4) comprises an inlet (5) and an outlet (6) which are common to the respective vertical lateral guide (3) so that, during the rolling/unrolling of the slatted shutter, said slatted shutter shows the same face to one side or the other, in other words internally or externally, making possible to clean both faces of the slatted shutter from the same side. During the rolling/unrolling of the slatted shutter, the slats (1) are driven by means of toothed wheels (26) or pinions (9), the extreme sliding elements (21) of the slats coming in between the teeth of the pinions. In an improved alternative, internal sides (22) of the box are formed by appropriately fixed plates (24), in the internal face of which is arranged a labyrinthian channel (4) which forms the guide of the slatted shutter, the inlet (5) and outlet (6) communicating with the vertical lateral guides (3). The slats (1) have, at their extremities, parts (17) provided with sprockets (21) which mesh with toothed wheels (10) which are appropriately synchronously actuated by motor means (11), so that said toothed wheels, when rotating, drive the slats and displace them along the lateral guides (3) and the labyrinthian guides (4) in such a way that the face of the slatted shutter facing the outside at the inlet remains facing the inside at the outlet and vice versa, so that it is possible to clean both faces of the slatted shutter while standing on the same side.
