Abstract:
A coupling comprises a pair of members: a first member having an outer convex spherical periphery centred about a central point and a torsional axis extending through the central point, and a second annular member has an inner concave spherical periphery centred on the central point and complementary to the outer periphery of the inner first member. The spherical surfaces of the inner and outer members co-act to transmit radial loads there between and to transmit loads acting along the torsional axis there between. An axle arrangement extends radially of the central point and couples the first and second annular for transmitting torsional load from one to the other. The each of the pair of members is rotatable one relative to the other about the said central point in a direction constrained by the axle arrangement.

A universal joint is disclosed. The universal joint includes a first shaft including a shaft body, and a ball groove formed in the shaft body to extend inwardly from an end of the shaft body, a second shaft including a joint ball, the joint ball being received in the ball groove of the first shaft, and a support protrusion or a forcibly-fitting groove provided at the ball groove of the first shaft. The support protrusion or forcibly-fitting groove causes the joint ball to be forcibly fitted in the ball groove while preventing the fitted joint ball from being separated from the ball groove. In accordance with this configuration, the assembly structure of the universal joint is simple. Also, the joint connecting structure of the universal joint provides an enhanced re¬ liability. It is also possible to minimize wear even after prolonged use, and thus to achieve enhanced durability.

A surgical motor designed to for power, noise and heat reduction for powering surgical tools where the surgical motor is modular constructed to house the vane motor for generating power in one module and the chuck and output shaft in the other module. A coupling mechanism for transmitting rotary motion from the vane motor to the output shaft includes balls made from elastomeric material to reduce vibrations and noise. The vane motor includes vanes that are contoured on the bottom edge, the spindle is undercut adjacent the vanes and peripheral edge of the spindle is grooved to enhance power, the inlet opening to the vanes are repositioned to increase the volume of inlet air, the inner surface is contoured to define a crescent seal adjacent to the spindle outer surface, the inlet and outlet to the spindle are repositioned to increase the power stroke of the vane, the discharge holes are oriented so that the vane edge sees a uniform contact surface during each revolution, the cylinder includes flow passages for cooling the cylinder and for flowing a portion of the air over the support bearings mounted downstream of the cylinder and including a return passageway to feed the inlet holes so that all pressurized inlet air are directed to impinge on the vanes and seal means, one made operable in situ and the other operating adjacent the inner race of the bearing prevents leakage of oil into ambient and into path of the surgical tool and the surgical motor includes an insert housing radially spaced from the main housing defining an air gap for reducing heat and the in the handle and resilient mounting means to isolate the vibrations to reduce noise and a thrust path bypassing the vane motor.

A developing device usable with an electrophotographic image forming apparatus, the apparatus including a driving shaft having a rotating force applying portion, and a rotary, the device being mountable to the rotary, and the device being movable in a direction perpendicular to an axial direction of the shaft in response to movement of the rotary in one direction with the device mounted to the rotary, wherein the shaft is not movable in a direction perpendicular to an axis thereof, the device including i) a developing roller rotatable about an axis, wherein the roller is contacted to and separated from the drum in response to movement of the rotary; and ii) a coupling member for transmitting a rotating force to the roller, the coupling member including, a rotating force receiving portion engageable with the rotating force applying portion to receive a rotating force from the shaft, and a rotating force transmitting portion for transmitting the rotating force received through the rotating force receiving portion to the roller, the coupling member being capable of taking a rotational force transmitting angular position for transmitting the rotational force for rotating the roller to the roller, a pre- engagement angular position which is taken before the coupling member is engaged with the rotating force applying portion and in which the coupling member is inclined away from the rotational force transmitting angular position, and a disengaging angular position which is taken for the coupling member to disengage from the shaft and in which the coupling member is inclined away from the rotational force transmitting angular position in a direction opposite to the pre- engagement angular position, wherein in response to a movement of the device when the rotary moves in the one direction, the coupling member moves from the pre- engagement angular position to the rotational force transmitting angular position, and wherein when the rotary makes a further movement in the one direction, in response to the further movement, the coupling member is moved from the rotational force transmitting angular position to the disengaging angular position to disengage the coupling member from the shaft, and wherein the roller is contacted to the drum in response to the movement of the device in a state that roller is being rotated through engagement between the coupling member and the rotating force applying portion.

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Antriebseinheit für eine Verstelleinrichtung eines Kraftfahrzeugs, mit einem Antriebsmotor, der eine drehbar gelagerte Antriebswelle antreibt, und einer Getriebewelle, die mit der Antriebswelle derart gekoppelt ist, dass bei einer Drehung der Antriebswelle die Getriebewelle mitgenommen wird, wobei die Antriebswelle und die Getriebewelle koaxial hintereinander angeordnet sind. Erfindungsgemäß ist vorgesehen, dass die Antriebswelle (10) und die Getriebewelle (20) durch elastische Mittel miteinander gekoppelt sind, über die sich die Antriebswelle (10) und die Getriebewelle (20) in axialer Richtung aneinander abstützen.
