Abstract:
A tensioning device includes a tension arm mounted on a base and a pulley mounted on the tension arm for engaging a looped belt Mounting bushings can be changed to select between a static mode wherein the tension arm is held stationary relative to the base, and a dynamic mode wherein, in response to a changing force (due to vibrations or changing load) applied between the pulley and the belt, the tension arm moves relative to the base in such a manner as to maintain the force substantially constant Several such devices can be employed for controlling the tension of a looped belt wherein one or more of the devices are in the static mode and/or the dynamic mode Several such systems can be employed in a complex machine, such as a photocopier or medical apparatus, for controlling the tension in a number of different belts.

Abstract:
A tensioning system having an endless belt (58), a pair of sheaves (62, 64) which are independently movable between reduced and enlarged configurations, a pair of rollers (102) are rotatably mounted at fixedly spaced locations on an elongated carrier member (82), one of the rollers is actively biased into engagement with the belt by a compression spring assembly (108). A cam surface (118) on the carrier member proximate the other of the rollers is slidable along a fixed contoured supporting surface and passively assures engagement of the other of the rollers with the belt. As the ratio of the transmission changes with changed diameters of the sheaves (62, 64) and the belt thereby assumes a changed path, the belt is effective to automatically move the rollers (102) therealong so as to maintain a substantially constant tension in the belt. A stabilizer mechanism inhibits undesirable rotational movement of the carrier member about its longitudinal axis.
Abstract:
A tensioner comprising a carrier pivotably mountable to a mounting surface, an arm having a first pulley journalled thereto and a second pulley journalled thereto, the arm slidingly engaged with the carrier for a linear movement with respect to a carrier axis A-A, and a spring disposed between the carrier and the arm, the spring resisting an arm movement along carrier axis A-A.
Abstract:
An injector head unit includes one or more drive chains revolving within a common plane mounted on an upper drive sprocket and a lower drive sprocket, wherein at least one of the upper and lower drive sprockets are configured to move vertically to tension the drive chains, and at least one fixed reference point proximate to at least one of the upper and lower drive sprockets, wherein relative positioning of one of the movable upper and lower drive sprockets with the fixed reference point indicates to a user an amount of elongation of the drive chains after a certain period of time.

A yard maintenance device having a working assembly selectively rotatable based on operation of an engine of the device may include a belt drive system. The belt drive system may include at least one driven pulley operably coupled to the working assembly, a drive shaft operably coupled to the engine, a drive belt configured to selectively couple the drive shaft to the at least one driven pulley, a tension adjustment assembly, and a control unit. The tension adjustment assembly may be configured to operably couple to at least one component of the belt drive system to adjust a position thereof to modify tension of the drive belt. The control unit may be configured to provide electronic control of the tension adjustment assembly.
Abstract:
The present invention finds application in the art of stone-working and relates to a device for tensioning flexible annular members wound around pulleys, which comprises a central hub (2) with a first substantially stationary axis (L), a substantially toroidal flange (4) with a central hole (5) for the passage of said hub (2), a pulley (6) rotatably mounted to said flange (4) to rotate about a second axis (X), said pulley (6) having a peripheral groove (7) for receiving said flexible member (F), drive means (9) operating on said pulley (6) in a substantially radial direction (R) to translate said second axis (X) relative to said first axis (L). The drive means (9) are external to said hub (2) and are operably coupled to said flange (4) to translate it perpendicular to said first (L) and second (X) axes.
Abstract:
Abstract:
In one embodiment, the present invention relates to a belt tensioning device for a hollow blind that comprises: a holder seat equipped with a lower belt gear on the top portion of the holder, the holder seat is in clearance fit with a lumen of a side frame of the hollow blind and is provided with a group of V- shaped slots from top to bottom therein, each V-shaped slot is equipped with a clip therein, the slip has a width slightly larger than the width of the lumen of the side frame of the hollow blind when being bent. The present invention allows the belt tensioning device to move along a single direction within the side frame of the hollow blind so that the distance between two belt gears can be gradually adjusted, thereby maintaining a proper tensioning force in the belt.
