The present disclosure relates to a heat transfer apparatus (1) for a housing (6), such as a transmission housing (6). The heat transfer apparatus (1) has an internal wall (10) for contacting a liquid in the housing; and an external wall (9) for contacting a cooling fluid. One or more heat transfer chamber (13) is disposed between the internal wall (10) and the external wall (9). A heat transfer medium (18) is disposed in each heat transfer chamber (13). Cooling means is provided for cooling the heat transfer medium (18); and heating means is provided for heating the heat transfer medium (18). The cooling means is disposed above the heating means. The present disclosure also relates to a housing (6) having one or more heat transfer apparatus (1); and to a vehicle (2) having one or more heat transfer apparatus (1).

A heat exchanger has a core comprised of at least one core section defined by a plate stack comprising a plurality of core plates, each core plate having a plurality of spaced apart, raised openings surrounded by a flat area. The raised openings of adjacent plates are sealed together to define a plurality of tubular structures. Top and bottom manifolds are sealed to the top and bottom of the core, with continuous top and bottom end plates providing structurally rigid connections between multiple core sections of the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger may have numerous configurations, including stepped core, curved core, angled core, and/or a core having multiple sections of the same or different length, while minimizing the number of unique parts and/or parts of complex shape.

A heat exchanger includes a first header tank, a second header tank, and a core. The core is positioned between the first header tank and the second header tank. The core includes a plurality of tubes, a set of cooling fins and a plurality of channels. Each tube of the plurality of tubes provides fluid communication between the first header tank and the second header tank. The set of cooling fins are located between the heat exchange tubes of the plurality of tubes to increase a heat exchange area. The plurality of channels is defined by the plurality of tubes and the set of cooling fins. The channels of the plurality of channels are operative for directing a flow of air through the core such that a flow of air enters a front face of the core in a first direction and is generally directed toward a plane.

A heat exchanger suitable for a vehicle includes a plurality of tubular first members arranged in a row and forming elongate gaps. These members form passageways for flow of a first fluid for heat exchange with cooling air flowing through the gaps. The first members and gaps form a primary heat exchange area. Inlet and outlet manifolds are connected to the first members for directing the first fluid through the first members. An associated cooling device circulates liquid coolant and comprises flat tube-like second members, each extending into a respective gap in a secondary area which is part of the primary area but smaller. The second members each have a thickness at least the width of their respective gaps. At least some of the first members can be formed with cut-outs in opposite flat sides, these cut-outs being sealingly closed by the second members.

The cooling system for a vehicle comprises a heat exchanger in which a condenser 200 comprising a plurality of tubes 112, 220; a pair of tanks 210; and fins 113, 230 and in which a condenser 200 comprised of portions 210B, 220, 230 through which the refrigerant is flowed is integrally formed with a first oil cooler 110 comprised of portions 210A, 112, 113 through which the oil is flowed; a radiator 300 which comprises a plurality of radiator tubes 320; a pair of radiator tanks 310; and radiator fins 330, and which is positioned at a down stream of the condenser 200 in the air blow direction; and a second oil cooler 120 which is provided in one of the radiator tanks 310 of the radiator 300.
