Abstract:
Turret (12) fitted with automatic canon and intended for a combat unit, said turret (12) comprising a turret housing (14) which is intended to be mounted on the outside of the combat unit and can rotate about a substantially vertical axis, and which turret housing (14) there is a weapon holder (16) for pivotably supporting a canon about a horizontal axis, which canon has a barrel (20) projecting from the turret housing (14) and a rear part (22) with associated loading mechanism (24) situated inside the housing (14). At least one ammunition magazine (26, 28) is arranged to the side of therear part (22) of the canon and has an outlet (29, 31) for the ammunition belt situated in such a way that the latter can be conveyed from a rear part of the magazine and guided fowards along an underside (33) of the magazine and thereafter curved through ca. 90 DEG about an axis substantially at right angles to the plane fo the belt for feeding the projectile to the loading mechanism (24).
Abstract:
Abstract:
A linked bucket carrier (60) for safely transporting molded, solid-propellant charges between a transport conveyor and respective storage magazines is described. The propellant charge carrier includes an elongated body (36) having an arc-shaped cross section that defines an elongated slot which is divided into compartments by spacers (44) so that the carrier is capable of holding at least two propellant charges. The carrier may further include clamping fingers (42) extending from the body and arranged on the body in opposing pairs, and the fingers may be pre-formed so that they define an out-of-round cross section adapted to clamp the propellant charges when the propellant charges are positioned within the body.

Abstract:
The aim of the invention is to provide an ammunition supply system that does not come from a turret (1) or an ammunition magazine. Said type of ammunition supply system (6) is mounted completely or partially about the periphery of the turret (1). Said ammunition supply (6) comprises at least one ammunition channel (10, 11) that is filled with ammunition (5), a drive (13) for transporting the ammunition (5) that is integrated if the weapon (3) is not configured for extracting the ammunition (5) itself. If this is the case, a continuous chain (12), that can be displaced in two axes, interacts with the drive (13). This enables the ammunition (5) to be transported about the radii (R) of the turret (1).
Abstract:
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an ammunition management system (1) for firing mixed ammunition (7) in an automatic cannon, wherein the ammunition management system (1) comprises a rotatable ammunition magazine (4) comprising ammunition shot (5), a breech casing (7) and an ammunition feed device (3) for feeding of ammunition shot (5) between the ammunition magazine (4) and the breech casing (7) of the cannon. What can principally be considered characteristic is that the ammunition management system (1) comprises a drive device (6) for driving the ammunition magazine (4) via a chain drive mechanism (11) disposed in the ammunition magazine (4), and that the ammunition management system (1) comprises a decoupling device (14) for engagement and disengagement of the ammunition magazine (4) with respect to the ammunition feed device (3), so that ammunition (5) can be moved between different positions in the ammunition magazine (4), via an alternating process comprising: feeding of ammunition from the ammunition magazine (4) to the ammunition feed device (3), disengagement of the ammunition magazine (4), rotation of the ammunition magazine (4), engagement of the ammunition magazine (4), and feedback of ammunition (5) from the ammunition feed device (3) to the ammunition magazine (4). The invention also relates to a method for sorting the ammunition (5) in the ammunition magazine (4).
