摘要: A hybrid RF-acoustic relay is provided where some but not all of the incident RF power is rectified to power the relay and, optionally, to provide power for further link features. The remaining fraction of the incident RF power is used to directly drive an acoustic transceiver array in communication with one or more acoustically powered nodes. In this manner, power, control and communication can be efficiently provided to acoustically powered nodes even in situations where an RF link or an acoustic link would perform poorly.

摘要: A method producing contact lenses, including the step of: holding the molded silicone hydrogel contact lens (600) attached to the one of the female mold half or the male mold half (400) with a vacuum supplied with a suction cup; deforming a surface of the one of the female mold half or the male mold half (400) having the molded silicone hydrogel contact lens (600) attached to with a pin (300) so as to separate the molded silicone hydrogel contact lens (600) from the mold half (400) attached to and to transfer the molded silicone hydrogel contact lens (600) to the suction cup; moving the suction cup away from the pin while the suction cup continues to hold the molded silicone hydrogel contact lens (600) remains; applying a compressed gas to blow the molded silicone hydrogel contact lens (600) away from the suction cup into a container.

摘要: A lens comprises an internal cavity structure formed by dissolution of a soluble insert material. The internal soluble material may dissolve through a body of a lens such as a contact lens in order to form the cavity within the contact lens. The cavity within the lens can be shaped in many ways, and corresponds to the shape of the dissolved material, such that many internal cavity shapes can be readily fabricated within the contact lens. The insert can be placed in a mold with a pre-polymer material, and the pre-polymer material cured with the insert placed in the mold to form the lens body. The polymerized polymer may comprise a low expansion polymer in order to inhibit expansion of the lens when hydrated. The polymer may comprise a hydrogel when hydrated. The soft contact lens material comprises a sufficient amount of cross-linking to provide structure to the lens and shape the cavity.

摘要: A contact lens for lens-to-lens communication includes blink detection circuitry, one or more electrodes, a logic engine, and data transmission circuitry. The blink detection circuitry is configured to generate a blink signal in response to a blinking of an eye. The logic engine is coupled to receive the blink signal from the blink detection circuitry. The data transmission circuitry is coupled between the one or more electrodes and the logic engine. The logic engine causes the data transmission circuitry to drive electrical data signals onto the one or more electrodes in response to the blink signal reaching a pre-determined threshold.

摘要: A diffractive backlight system includes a light source and a planar plate light guide. A surface of the plate light guide is configured with a diffraction grating that couples light out of the plate light guide and concentrates the light into a localized region of space. The diffractive backlight system may be used with at least one light-valve array to form a display that generates images for viewing in the localized region of space. The display may be incorporated in head-mounted displays in order to generate focused augmented or virtual reality images for wearers.
