摘要: A method for adaptively shadowing bright light in a field of view seen by an observer. The method includes receiving, from a first image sensor facing a scene in front of the transparent display, light intensity data indicative of brightness of a light received from a light source in the scene; determining a location of the light source relative to the transparent display device based on the light intensity data; receiving, from a second image sensor facing an observer located in a line of sight of a transparent display, image data representative of an image of the observer, determining a location of the observer relative to the transparent display based the image data; and, controlling the transparent display based on the location of the observer and the location of the light source to adaptively adjust a transparency at one or more areas of the transparent display to at least partially block light received from the light source from passing through the one or more areas of the transparent display.

摘要: A computed factor allows quantifying the efficiency of a light filter to stimulate a non-visual physiological effect which is responsive to light entering into a subject's eye. The efficiency factor is based on a spectral light transmittance of the filter over the wavelength visible range, on a spectral sensitivity profile of the non-visual physiological effect, and on a spectral distribution of the light which enters into the subject's eye without using the filter. Such efficiency factor is useful in particular for an ophthalmic element designed for stimulating a non-visual physiological effect which is based on melanopsin light-absorption.

摘要: An ophthalmic device includes a lens and an electronic component embedded in the lens to enhance the functionality of the lens. The ophthalmic device includes a first coil to wirelessly receive energy from an external device, such as a wireless charger, and wirelessly transmits the received energy to a second coil coupled to the electronic component so as to power the electronic component. The first coil can function as part of a repeater to facilitate the wireless charging. The repeater can receive electrical energy wirelessly and works with various positions, sizes, and shapes of the electronic component. The wireless power efficiency can also be increased using the repeater to concentrate a magnetic flux within the second coil.

摘要: An eyewear control system for a variable transmittance optical filter assembly configurable to cover at least a portion of a lens of an eyewear device. The eyewear control system includes a controller communicatively coupled to a pair of load terminals. The eyewear control system also includes a light sensor communicatively coupled to the controller to provide a detector output signal, the light sensor being positioned to receive sunlight transmitted through the optical filter assembly and towards an eye of a person wearing the eyewear device, the detector output signal being set in dependence on an amount of sunlight received by the light sensor. The eyewear control system also includes a memory communicatively coupled to the controller and having encoded thereon computer program code executable by the controller to transition the optical filter assembly between operating states when coupled to the pair of load terminals. The controller is operable to vary a voltage across the load terminals in dependence on the detector output signal to vary an amount of sunlight transmitted to the eye by the optical filter assembly.

摘要: An optical stack includes a first variable element and a second variable element. The first variable element is configured to vary light transmission through the first variable element as a function of a first control signal. The second variable element is in series with the first variable element and is configured to vary light transmission through the second variable element as a function of a second control signal. A controller dynamically supplies the first control signal to the first variable element and supplies the second control signal to the second variable element.
