Abstract:
A replaceable unit for an image forming apparatus according to one example embodiment includes a housing and at least one transmissive member positioned on an exterior of the housing. The at least one transmissive member is arranged to receive optical energy from the image forming apparatus and has a transmissivity for modifying an amount of the optical energy that leaves the at least one transmissive member relative to an amount of the optical energy received by the at least one transmissive member. The at least one transmissive member indicates information relating to a characteristic of the replaceable unit.
Abstract:
When a stirring member that stirs developer in a developer containing portion rotates at high speed, toner flies and the detection accuracy of light transmission type toner remaining amount detection is degraded. A developing apparatus including a developer containing portion that contains developer, a stirring member that stirs the developer in the developer containing portion, and a partition member which is disposed to separate the developer containing portion from a space adjacent to the developer containing portion and which bends to block at least a part of a light path, which is formed in the space and used to detect an amount of the developer, when being pressed by the stirring member via the developer.
Abstract:
An image developing device includes a developer supporting body; a first conveyance path in which a first conveyance member is arranged; a second conveyance path in which a second conveyance member is arranged; and a partition member that partitions the first conveyance path and the second conveyance path and that has a first communication port and a second communication port. The first communication path and the second communication path communicates with each other through the first communication port and the second communication port. The image developing device includes a developer amount detection unit that includes an optical detection unit arranged in the second conveyance path and that optically detects an amount of the developer in the image forming device. The developer is caused to accumulate in the vicinity of the developer amount detection unit.
Abstract:
A toner cartridge (1) includes a waste bin (10) having a leading end that can be sculpted to mate with the cartridge-receiving cavities and an improved toner beater and sensing apparatus (40), the elimination of a pivotal motion between the elements of the cartridge, an enhanced method of determining the amount of toner remaining in the toner chamber, and an improved means of agitating the toner within the toner chamber.
Abstract:
A cartridge attachable to and detachable from a body of an image forming apparatus includes a toner container containing a toner and including a stirring member configured to stir the toner, and a developing section connected to the toner container through a supply port and including a developing section stirring member configured to stir the toner, a supply roller configured to receive the toner supplied from the developing section stirring member, and a developing roller configured to receive the toner supplied from the supply roller. A rotation ratio of the stirring member to the supply roller is 5% to 25%.
Abstract:
A toner cartridge with a uni-body construction reduces the cost of production as well as reducing the chance of failure during use. The toner cartridge includes a waste bin having a leading end that can be sculpted to mate with the cartridge-receiving cavities of a large number of printers. Additional improvements include an improved toner sifting agitator. The sifting action ensures that toner stays sufficiently fluid, and distributes evenly on the toner adder roller.

Abstract:
An electrophotographic image forming apparatus may include an imaging cartridge and a toner cartridge that are detachably attached to a main body, a first optical sensor that is mounted in the imaging cartridge and detects a toner level in a development chamber, and a second optical sensor that is mounted in the toner cartridge and detects a toner level in the development chamber.
Abstract:
A toner supply container detachably mountable to an image forming apparatus, the toner supply container including a rotatable container body for containing toner; and a sensor, rotatable integrally with the container body, for detecting a remaining toner amount in the container body.
