A process for the preparation of N-protected 6-(piperidin-4-ylcarbamoyl)piperidin-3-yl sulfonates of Formula (III): which comprises contacting a lactone of Formula (II): with an azacycloalkylamine of formula (II-Am): followed by contact with a sulfonyl halide of formula (II-Su): R 4 -SO 2 W (II-Su) in the presence of tertiary amine base, wherein P G1 and P G2 are amine protective groups; k, p and q are 0, 1, or 2, and W, R 2 , R 3 , R 4 , R 5 , R 6 , R 7 , R 8 , and R 9 are defined herein. Additional embodiments add a series of process steps leading to the synthesis of 7-oxo-1,6-diazabicyclo[3.2.1]octanes suitable for use as β-lactamase inhibitors.

An electronic circuit for use with a consumable imaging unit comprises information configured to transform said electronic circuit from a communicated state to a non communicated state. Additionally, the information of the circuit is configured to alter an identifier of the circuit. The information of the circuit is also configured to point an imaging machine to communicate with a second element of the circuit after the information determines that a first element of the circuit has been altered from its original state.

The invention relates to a composite and oral care compositions for use in the mouth to retard the accumulation of dental plaque and/or calculus. The composite is a microaggregate comprising polymer coated, surfactant stabilized particles of a substantially insoluble metal, metal salt or metal oxide, for example zinc oxide. Also methods for retarding the accumulation of dental plaque and/or calculus are provided.

A cartridge assembly to couple an electrosurgical device to treat tissue with an electro surgical unit includes a cartridge member to operate with a power delivery apparatus of the electrosurgical unit and a fluid delivery apparatus of the electrosurgical unit. An electrosurgical unit includes a power delivery apparatus and a fluid delivery apparatus arranged to operate with a cartridge member to be located in a cartridge receptacle of the electrosurgical unit. An electrosurgical device includes a first electrode spaced alongside the second electrode, with each electrode having a blade shaped member. Each blade shaped member has opposing sides bounded by edges, with the edges having a medial edge and a lateral edge. At least one fluid outlet is adjacent each blade shaped member, and each fluid outlet is in fluid communication with a fluid passage. The device can be operated as either a bipolar device or a monopolar device and includes a switch to inhibit capacitive coupling to one of the electrodes when the other electrode is used in monopolar fashion.

Method and apparatus for testing in a communication network is described. One example of the invention relates to a method of testing in a voice over internet protocol (VOIP) network. At least one test script is obtained from the VOIP network at an enhanced terminal adapter. The enhanced terminal adapter is configured to couple at least one communication device to the VOIP network. The at least one test script is executed within a scripting framework of the enhanced terminal adapter to interact with at least one component coupled to the VOIP network. Results of the execution of the at least one test script are transmitted from the enhanced terminal adapter to the VOIP network.

The invention provides a bipolar electrosurgical device to treat tissue in a presence of radio frequency energy and a fluid provided from the device. In one embodiment, the device comprises a first electrode and a second electrode at the end of a malleable shaft assembly to be hand shapeable by a user of the device, and at least one fluid outlet. The malleable shaft assembly comprises a first shaft and a second shaft, a length of the first shaft and a length of the second shaft in an outer member comprising a polymer, and at least a portion of the first shaft and at least a portion of the second shaft being malleable.

Enabling end users to add their own hover help to extend hover help that is provided in a user interface, without having access to the code of the application. An end user can extend the application-provided hover help information to make it more helpful or tailored to his own needs. The originally-provided hover help is retained, and may be rendered in addition to the user's appended hover help. Or, by specifying that the user-provided hover help is displayed in the same location as the originally-provided hover help, the user-provided hover help can be rendered such that the originally-provided hover help is at least partially obscured.

It has become increasingly important to conserve fuel and resources. This is true with power generation plants, as well as propulsion plants, Civilian, as well as Military. A system for performing signal processing includes a system input, wherein a first signal having a first format, and supplied on a first system input is selected by a user for format conversion. A switching circuit having plural switching circuit inputs and. plural switching circuit outputs is provided for routing the first signal, received via a first switching circuit input, to a first switching circuit output. A processor is connected with the switching circuit for converting the first signal received via the first switching circuit output into a second signal having a second format, wherein the second signal is supplied to a second switching circuit input, and output to a first system output via a second switching circuit output.
