A numerical control system comprises a numerical control device (1a), and peripheral equipment including any of a servo amplifier (2a), a spindle amplifier (3a) and a remote I/O unit (4a). The numerical control device (1a) and the peripheral equipment are connected through a communication cable including two pairs of data transmission cables (7) and reception cables (8). The period of a communication between the numerical control device (1a) and the peripheral equipment (including any of a servo amplifier (2a), a spindle amplifier (3a) and a remote I/O unit (4a)) is divided into a plurality of subcycles, and data processing is performed during individual subcycles.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a control and/or regulating system for a machine used for producing a fiber web, in particular a paper and/or cardboard web. This system comprises several actuators (A1-A6), each associated to at least one final control element, for affecting certain properties of the fiber web that is to be produced. The actuators (A1-A6) are intelligent components of a decentralized communication/hardware structure (10), in which they are coupled together via a closed pipeline ring (12) and/or a local LAN network.

When an additional robot body is installed, a communication line can be simplified and the degradation of the control performance can be avoided and, further, the abnormality of the processing circuit MPU of an operating means can be detected by a control means on the robot main part side. Command data from one operating means are connected to a plurality of control means successively through a single serial communication line to form a closed loop. The command data received by the respective control means are supplied to servo units to control and drive the respective robot bodies. Identification data for identifying the robot bodies and monitoring data which are incremented by one for every communication cycle by a processing circuit MPU of the operating means are added. The control means compares the monitoring data of the present communication cycle with that of the previous communication cycle. When the monitoring data are not changed, it is judged that the processing circuit MPU of the operating means is abnormal.
