Abstract:
Embodiments of the disclosure provide a method and apparatus for generating a geographic area heat map. In one embodiment, the method comprises: receiving linked data from one or more users, the linked data including service feature data associated with the one or more users and location service data associated with the one or more users; extracting candidate users from the one or more users based on the linked data and a geographic area to be identified; determining a user distribution density based on the linked data, wherein the user distribution density include a total number of the candidate users in the geographical area to be identified; and displaying the user distribution density of the geographical area to be identified.
Abstract:
Systems, apparatuses, and methods are provided for determining the geographic location of an end- user device (e.g., vehicle, mobile phone, smart watch, etc.). An end-user device may collect a depth map at a location in a path network. Feature geometries may be obtained from a fingerprint database in proximity to the location in the path network. The depth map may be oriented with the feature geometries of the fingerprint. Control points from an extracted feature geometry in the depth map may be compared with control points within the fingerprint. Match rates may be calculated based on the comparison, and a geographic location of the end-user device may be determined when an overall match rate exceeds a minimum threshold value.
Abstract:
A computing device presents a user interface in which graphical representations of content may be positioned based on user input. Inclusionary and exclusionary portions of metadata associated with the content may be ranked based on the positions and/or positional relationships of the graphical representations in the user interface. The computing device generates content recommendations based on the rankings. Presented content associated with the content recommendations may be provided to a user in response to selection of a content recommendation. The content recommendations may be modified in response to changes to the user interface received from a user.
Abstract:
An interactive street safety map system for internet, GPS, and mobile users is disclosed. The system is designed to identify crime and traffic accidents information at street level. Each street segment on the map indicates low to high density of crime and traffic accidents in different colors in order to improve public perception of safety on each of the streets displayed. The system includes crime and traffic accident data, and the system users can query the data for their interest locations, crime types, crime date and time of occurrence, and the number of crime incidents and traffic accidents. Ultimately, the online street safety map allows users to choose relatively low risk of crime and traffic accident streets for their own safety. The system harvests crime and traffic information data from police departments through Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD), Recorded Management Systems (RMS), and other crime and traffic information sharing services.
Abstract:
Individuals utilize devices to engage in conversations about topics respectively associated with a location (e.g., restaurants where the individuals meet for dinner). Often, the individual momentarily withdraws from the conversation to issue commands to the device to retrieve and present such information, and may miss parts of the conversation while interacting with the device. Additionally, the individual often explores such topics individually on a device and conveys such information to the other individuals through messages, which is inefficient and error-prone. Presented herein are techniques enabling devices to facilitate conversations by monitoring the conversation for references, by one individual to another (rather than as a command to the device), to a topic associated with a location. In the absence of a command from an individual, the device may automatically present a map alongside a conversation interface showing the location(s) of the topic(s) referenced in the conversation.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, blasting machines and wireless bridge units are presented for wireless blasting for safe firing of detonators under control of a remote wireless master controller in which the blasting machine is connected by cabling to the wireless bridge unit and power to a firing circuit of the blasting machine is remotely controlled via the bridge unit. The bridge unit selectively provides first and second firing messages to the blasting machine contingent upon acknowledgment of safe receipt of the first firing message by the blasting machine, and the blasting machine fires the connected detonators only if the first and second firing messages are correctly received from the bridge unit. A wireless slave blasting machine is disclosed, including a wireless transceiver for communicating with a remote wireless master controller, which fires the connected detonators only if first and second firing messages are wirelessly received from the master controller.
Abstract:
A method and system for audio-visual navigation having communication dynamic memory architectures is disclosed. According to one embodiment, a computer-implemented method comprises providing the user with a user presence within a three dimensional space on a display. The spatial publishing object represented in the three dimensional space is selected via user presence. The spatial publishing object has a plurality of properties comprising auditory and visual fields associated with a media source. The spatial publishing object is manipulated using inputs received from a user, for example, changing a display property of the spatial publishing object, navigating the user presence with respect to the spatial publishing object within the three-dimensional space, or connecting the spatial publishing object to another spatial publishing object.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatuses, computer program products, devices and systems are described that carry out accepting a request associated with at least one of an item, an aspect, or an element that is not present in a field of view of a user's augmented reality device; presenting in a display of the augmented reality device at least one augmented reality representation related to the at least one item, aspect, or element in response to accepting a request associated with at least one item, aspect, or element that is not present in a field of view of an augmented reality device; and processing the request and any related interaction of the user via the at least one augmented reality representation.
Abstract:
[Problem] An object is to enhance the drawing speed of an image using a graphics library. [Solution to Problem] An integration process is performed to integrate line data used for drawing linear features such as roads with respect to map data used to display a map image. The integration process first groups line data by the line type and the line width, for example, lines L1 and L3 drawn by thin solid lines and lines L2, L4 and L5 drawn by thick solid lines. The integration process subsequently links the lines L1 and L3 by a hidden line LA1 and links the lines L2, L4 and L5 by hidden lines LA2 and LA3, so as to integrate line data to an integral line with respect to each group. Such integration of line data reduces the number of calls for a line function used for line drawing provided in a graphics library in the process of drawing a map using the map data including the integrated line data, thereby shortening the processing time required for calling.
Abstract:
A method for supporting searching in digital multimedia content comprising forming a virtual solid body by calculation of a primary area and a secondary area, separated by a function of time, wherein the calculation forms the virtual solid body, associating a metadata object with the virtual solid body, creating a record for the virtual solid body, the record containing the metadata object associated withthe virtual solid body, providing the record to a search engine, wherein the record is arranged such that searches can be performed by the search engine, potentially resulting in a pointer to the virtual solid body in the content.
