A model controller includes a trackball having a spherical surface with one of latitudinal or longitudinal data tracks formed thereon. The model controller includes a base unit including a first image sensor adjacent to the trackball to capture images of the data tracks, wherein the captured images of the data tracks include orientation information to determine an absolute orientation of the trackball.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein 3D-Eingabegerät (1) zum Steuern der Position eines Objekts (8, 14) im Raum, umfassend ein manuell bedienbares 3D-Eingabeelement (3), an dem Steuervorgaben in drei Raumkoordinaten eingegeben werden können und einen Drehregler (4), der bei einer Drehbetätigung ein vom Drehwinkel abhängiges Ausgangssignal erzeugt. Gemäß der Erfindung umfasst das 3D- Eingabegerät (1) eine Steuereinheit (21), die das Objekt (8, 14) in Abhängigkeit von der am Drehregler (4) ausgeführten Drehbewegung im Raum bewegt.

본 발명은 간편하면서도 정확하게 전자기기의 화면에서 표시된 포인터를 제어할 수 있는 구동방법을 제공한다. 본 발명은 본 발명은 터치에 의해 정보가 입력되는 입력수단과, 상기 터치되는 것에 의해 포인터가 표시되는 화면표시장치를 구비한 전자기기의 구동방법에 있어서, 상기 입력수단에 최초에 터치가 이루어지는 지점에서 임의의 방향으로 드래그가 이루어질 때 드래그 되는 방향으로 상기 포인터를 이동시키는 제1 단계; 상기 드래그 동작을 멈추었을 때에 포인터의 이동을 중지시키는 제2 단계; 및 상기 드래그가 멈춘 상태에서 누름압력에 대응하여, 상기 터치가 최초로 이루어진 지점에서 상기 누름 압력이 인가되는 지점까지의 방향으로 상기 포인터가 추가적으로 이동되는 제3 단계를 포함하는 전자기기 구동방법을 제공한다.

A direction indicating arrangement comprises a processor programmed to calculate an angle in three dimensions for indicating a direction in three dimensions; a pointing device for pointing in the direction; and a drive arrangement for driving the pointing device in response to the calculated angle to point in the direction. A portable electronic device controller includes a housing wearable by a user and a controller disposed within the housing. The housing may be worn on the user's fingers and in particular may be worn on the proximal phalanges of the user. The electronic device controller may advantageously be a computer mouse that enables the user to control the cursor of a computer by manipulating controller elements with the thumb of the hand wearing the device. The user's fingers extend through openings in the electronic device controller and are free to move enabling the user to use the same hand to perform other functions such as operating a keyboard, driving or flying.

A handheld wireless communication device includes features that make it easier to differentiate among various keys and to correctly select a desired key. It also includes features that make the device more comfortable to use. In particular, corner keys have decreasing height profiles to make above-adjacent keys easier to reach and distinguish. Additionally, lowermost, outermost portions of the corner keys may be somewhat truncated. Flanking keys in a navigation row slant toward and are flush with peripheral edges of a navigation tool assembly and have outer edges that are higher than inner edges of adjacent outer keys. The outer edges of the flanking keys may be hump-shaped or crowned. The longitudinally central portion of the device is narrower than the ends of the device, and the corners of the device are contoured to enhance comfort in a user's hand. Soft-touch materials are employed in hand-contacting portions of the device.
