Abstract:
A method of verifying the identity of a user in an online system is disclosed. An embodiment of the method includes capturing a current photo graphic image of a user via a user interface provided on a user device; receiving, via the user interface, a photographic image or digital copy of at least one independently issued identity verification document, wherein each of the at least one independently issued identity verification document includes user identification data items and at least one of the at least one independently issued identity verification document includes a photographic image of the user; extracting a plurality of user identification data items and a photographic image of the user from the at least one independently issued identity verification document,, calculating an identity Confidence score, wherein the calculation is based upon matching the extracted plurality of user identification data items and photographic image of the user with the captured photographic image of (he user; and generating a verification status for the user based upon the calculated identity confidence score wherein the user is assigned a verified status if the calculated identity confidence score is within a first predetermined verification range
Abstract:
Methods and systems for facial recognition are provided. The method includes determining a three-dimensional (3D) model of a face of an individual based on different images of the individual. The method also includes extracting two-dimensional (2D) patches from the 3D model. Further, the method includes generating a plurality of signatures of the face using different combinations of the 2D patches, wherein the plurality of signatures correspond to respective views of the 3D model from different angles.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a gaming machine has a digital camera and automatically takes a picture of a player. Facial detection software identifies certain facial characteristics of the player, such as approximate age and gender. Rules software then selects appropriate sets of animation images and sound files that are associated with the detected physical features of the player. The displayed game, user interface, theme, etc. are then adapted to the player's detected features. If the player is identified, by comparing the picture to previously stored pictures, a personalized message may be displayed. When the gaming machine is in an attract mode, the camera may take pictures/videos of passersby and adapt the attract mode animation to the passerby's physical image or movement. In another embodiment, the camera is used to sense physical motions by the player to control aspects of the game or other displayed features.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for generating personal information of a client, a recording medium thereof, and a POS system. The method for generating personal information of a client for a POS system including a server integrated with a POS terminal or a server connected through a network to the POS terminal, comprises the following steps: (a) detecting a facial area of a client from an image which is extracted from an image received through an image input unit provided at a location on the POS terminal; (b) detecting facial characteristics from the detected facial area; and (c) generating personal information by estimating the gender and/or age of the client using the detected facial area and the detected facial characteristics.
Abstract:
This invention relates to an apparatus for and a method of measuring skin glow and/or skin radiance and/or skin shine and/or the biological age of the skin of an individual. As an individual ages, their appearance changes due to structural alterations to their tissues. These visible signs of aging, such as loss of skin glow or radiance, mean that other individuals are an indication of the age of an individual. In a population of individuals, some will appear younger and some will appear older than their chronological age. In these cases the aforementioned visible signs of aging are an indication of how well the skin of the individual is aging, in other words an indication of the biological age of the skin of the individual. Trained human age assessors are able to reproducibly determine the biological age of the skin of the individual. However automation would facilitate its use in al most any research or consumer setting. Thus a method of determining skin glow and/or skin radiance and/or skin shine and/or the biological age of the skin of an individual is provided, the method comprising the steps of: (a) Determining the number or sum of areas of at least one predetermined facial skin region of a test individual, the areas having: (i) a predetermined minimum specular reflectance and having a predetermined maximum area; or (ii) a predetermined minimum specular reflectance and having a predetermined minimum area; or (iii) a predetermined maximum specular reflectance and having a predetermined maximum area; or (iv) a predetermined maximum specular reflectance and having a predetermined minimum area; (b) Determining the biological age of the skin of the test individual from a previously obtained graph or equation relating chronological age of a n individual to the number or sum of areas of the at least one predetermined facial skin region of an individual, the areas being defined according to step (a).
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are disclosed for determining at least one unknown attribute value associated with a target object visible in an image. The method includes the steps of providing a sample point in multi-dimensional space associated with the target object, determining at least one conditional probability distribution for at least one attribute associated with the target object and determining at least one conditional expectation value, indicating a respective attribute value associated with the target object, from the conditional probability distribution.
Abstract:
A method of identifying at least one particular person of interest in a collection of digital images taken over time, includes providing the collection of digital images with each digital image containing one or more persons; storing in a digital database an appearance model having a set of features that are distance measurements associated with facial features of the particular person of interest at an associated time; and providing an individual recognition classifier that uses the appearance model and the associated time to identify the particular person of interest in images from the collection of digital images.
