According to one exemplary embodiment a system, method and apparatus for an indicator driven by a RFID tag for localization purposes may be disclosed. An RFID tag may be disposed on an item. The RFID tag may have an indicator element. A RFID reader may be in communication with the RFID tag such that the indicator element can be activated in order to localize the item.
Abstract:
A system for identifying which equipment slots of an equipment enclosure have equipment components located in them when specific equipment components containing radio frequency identification (RFID) tags thereon are inserted into specific ones of the equipment slots. The system may use a plurality of antenna elements that wirelessly sense the presence of an RFID tag at any of the equipment slots, and which generate outputs that may be interpreted as forming a plurality of codes. Each code is uniquely associated with a specific one of the equipment slots. A decoder system may read the output signals from the antenna elements to thus obtain the code and determine which specific ones of the equipment slots that an RFID tag was sensed at.
Abstract:
Object localization with an radio-frequency identification (RFID) infrastructure is described. A plurality of transmission power levels established by an RFID reader can be searched to determine a measurement power level corresponding to a target. A region that includes the target can then be determined using information about a physical relationship between the RFID reader and a reference location via correlating the measurement power level to a reference power level corresponding to the reference location.

An encoding module and related systems and components are provided. The encoding module includes a plurality of encoding elements arranged in an array of columns and rows and one or more switching elements configured to selectively connect the encoding elements to a reader. The connection of the encoding elements may be based on the location of a targeted transponder disposed among multiple adjacent transponders to ensure the selective communication with the targeted transponder only. The module is configured for various types and locations transponders to be used within a system, such as a printer-encoder. Each encoding element may include a loaded conductive strip comprising a loop shape portion and a shield that corresponds to the loop shape portion. In another embodiment, an access control system having an encoding module with the plurality of couplers and an access card having a plurality of transponders corresponding to the couplers is provided.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein mobiles Lesegerät zum Auffinden eines mit einem Transponder markierten Objekts. Das Lesegerät weist eine Antenneneinrichtung (110) zum Empfangen eines vom Transponder ausgesendeten Signals auf, wobei die Antenneneinrichtung eine Hauptstrahlrichtung aufweist. Weiterhin ist eine Elektronikbaugruppe zum Berechnen einer Richtung vom Lesegerät zum Transponder anhand des empfangenen Signals vorgesehen. Das Lesegerät weist darüber hinaus einen Orientierungsdetektor auf, bspw. einen elektronischen Kompass, mit dem eine absolute Orientierung des Lesegerätes bezüglich eines äußeren Raumes ermittelbar ist. Während die Haupstrahlrichtung der Antenne im Raum geschwenkt und die Signalstärke gemessen wird, wird gleichzeitig die Orientierung im Raum ermittelt. Eine Zuordnung der zu einem Zeitpunkt t ermittelten Orientierung zur zum gleichen Zeitpunkt gemessenen Signalstärke erlaubt die Bestimmung der Richtung zum Transponder, da davon auszugehen ist, dass das Signal ein Maximum aufweist, wenn die Hauptstrahlrichtung in Richtung des Transponders weist.

Host and Repeater devices are located at vertices of polyhedra defining spaces. Polyhedra edge lengths are defined as the modified physical distance between two devices. This morphing employs parameters measured by or input to the system. Morphed three dimensional subzones are defined within the volume of the polyhedra defined by the devices at the vertices.

This invention proposes a movement detection method in a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system which includes one or more reader/writers and a group of tags, wherein each of said tags is attached to a workpiece. The method includes the following steps: firstly, said reader/writers read at least two from said group of tags, capture the received signal strength indication envelopes of said tags, and store the received signal strength indication envelope of one of the tags as a template; secondly, a correlation match is performed for the received signal strength indication envelope of said tags and said template to obtain the time interval between the received signal strength indication envelope of said tags and said template when the correlation value is the maximum. Using the present invention, the reader/writer can report each tag in front of the antenna, even if multiple tags exist in the complicated industrial environment, ensuring FCFR and improving the reliability of the UHF RFID system.
