Abstract:
Methods, systems, and apparatuses in a communication system for interfacing data. The method includes receiving a tag identifier and an application identifier from an application at a user device; authenticating the application using the application identifier; determining a manufacturer identifier that corresponds to the tag identifier in an identifier repository; transmitting the application identifier, the tag identifier and the manufacturer identifier to a computing device associated with the manufacturer identifier; receiving the manufacturer item identifier, the tag identifier, the application identifier, and specific item information from the manufacturer computing device; and transmitting the manufacturer item identifier, the tag identifier and the specific item information to the application to enable the specific item information can be displayed on the user device.
Abstract:
A method includes receiving data in an electronic format that describes an item, and assigning a unique identifier to the item. The data is normalized across one or more data sets of data that describe other items. The normalizing includes deriving functional and aesthetic attributes of the item based at least in part on the data that describes the item, where at least one of the derived attributes is not included in the data. The normalizing also includes programmatically mapping the attributes to a defined set of taxonomies for pre-defined attribute types. At least one other item is located in the one or more data sets having attributes that coordinate with the attributes of the item. A user interface that includes a styleboard with an image of the item and an image of the at least one other item having attributes that coordinate with attributes of the item.

Abstract:
The present invention is directed to determining a desired color for a home project and producing paint having the desired color through a kiosk at a point of sale location corresponding to a retail establishment, and to determining a desired color for a home project and producing paint having the desired color. In one scenario, a computer system receives from a user an indication of a particular paint color. The computer system displays to the user a representation of the color corresponding to the indication of color. The computer system further receives user input directed to altering the displayed color, alters the displayed color based on the user input until the desired color is displayed, determines a unique tint formula corresponding to the desired color, and produces a paint code that can be used to create a paint having the desired color based on the tint formula.
Abstract:
An app in an app store may be associated with a statically or dynamically generated list of the app's features, modes, content, and/or target device. Different descriptions, icons, titles, and the like may be shown in the app store for each of those features, modes, and content. Based on the mapping and display of individual options, users may be enabled to purchase just one of those modes, features, and/or content. If a user finds one of the provided options and acts to acquire it, the app may start up in a mode tailored to the options (feature, mode, content) rather than activating in a generic way. App stores may limit a number of options per app that can appear in search results, to prevent result spamming by collapsing displayed results, limiting the actual number of displayed results, or filtering by user.
Abstract:
An electronic system includes: a control unit configured to identify a first indication input associated with a first real property post; generate a preference maximization profile of a second real property post based on the first indication input; generate a proposed property content based on the first indication input, the preference maximization profile, the second real property post, or a combination thereof for procuring a second indication input associated with the second real property post; and a display unit, coupled to the control unit, configured to display the proposed property content.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for self-service recycling are provided. In particular, some embodiments include graphical user interfaces and backend systems that allow users to identify the market for used automotive parts. For example, each car in a self-service automotive recycling (SSAR) facility may be tagged with a bar code or QR code which identifies the vehicle. When the user scans the QR code, a determination is made regarding which parts are currently needed for by register members of the system, recent prices for individual parts, and/or a list of vehicles which can use these parts. This information is presented to the user. Using this information, the user can determine if any of the identified parts remain on the vehicle and may purchase the parts from the SSAR facility for resale. The system then assists the user in creating descriptions for postings on the Internet and/or otherwise connecting the user with potential purchasers.
Abstract:
A method and system for finding objects or services utilizing a communication link to enlist the help of and reward third parties to help locate the desired object or service. Currently, most people who want to locate any object will do a search either manually or using a computer to try to locate the object. This technique works well for retail products that can be easily identified. However, such a system does not work well for hard to describe or unique products since the computer method requires key words which are difficult to determine for a hard to describe or unique product.
Abstract:
Computer-implemented systems and methods for the sale of consumer services. Predictions are made based on the behaviors, preferences, assets, identifying characteristics, and other attributes associated with customers and merchants. In one implementation, a prediction is made as to whether a customer is likely to request a service and whether a merchant is likely to be selected by the customer to provide the service. In another implementation, the calendars of a merchant and customer are automatically updated to account for the customer's late arrival to an appointment at the merchants location. In yet another implementation, a customer purchases an appointment for a service from another customer that has the appointment scheduled with a merchant providing the service.
