Abstract:
Described herein is an apparatus and method for manufacturing an image display. The apparatus provides an automated method for efficient production of a finished image display, beginning with a planar, unassembled, image display and resulting with a fully-assembled image display in its final form, such as a cube-shaped image display with a plurality of images affixed thereto. In one embodiment, the apparatus is machinery configured as a semi-automated workstation, configured with four jigs stationed on a rotating platform housed on a workstation base. The rotating platform is configured for 360 degree rotation and advancing each jig through one of four work positions. The rotating platform is controlled by a control panel, which can be operated manually or automated. In one embodiment, the machinery is capable of high through-put manufacturing - up to three hundred image display cubes in one hour of operation.

The invention relates to a method for transforming a three dimensional digital model in a space object made of sheet material. The method allows the shape forming elements of the sheet matrix to be permanently or temporarily fixed so that it can be used for circulation copies or unique pieces of the space object in material. The method according to the invention included the object is a three dimensional digital model (1), which is brought in a geometry form (2) comprising the whole three dimensional digital model - the positive (1) and representing its matrix (2), whereby the outer contour of the three dimensional digital model (1), determined by a multitude of points belonging simultaneously to the three dimensional digital model (1) and to the geometry form (2), determines the dividing contour (3).

Diorama made from a two-dimensional image having a background panel in which a background section of the image appears and a plurality of additional panels on which additional sections of the image appear. The additional panels extend forwardly from the background panel, with edges of adjacent ones of the panels coming together and the image flowing continuously between the panels The two-dimensional image is transformed into a diorama by constructing a three-dimensional model of the diorama, converting the three-dimensional model to a two-dimensional layout guide with lines outlining the panels, using the layout guide as a template for adjusting the shape and size of selected areas of the two-dimensional image to match the guide lines on the layout guide, printing the adjusted image, trimming the printed image along facing edges of adjacent ones of the panels, and bringing the trimmed edges together to form a continuous three-dimensional image.

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Informationsträger (10) aus flexiblem und faltbarem Material. Der Informationsträger (10) lässt sich flach zusammenfalten, während er in einem entfalteten Zustand aufgrund der Wirkung beziehungsweise der Unterstützung durch elastische Mittel (48) eine säulenartige Gestalt annimmt. Der Informationsträger wird aus zwei Zuschnitten (18, 20) zusammengesetzt, indem diese Zuschnitte einerseits über Laschen (22, 24, 26, 28, 122, 124, 126, 128) fest miteinander verbunden, insbesondere verklebt, werden und in dem andererseits eine Verbindung zwischen Halte- und Verbindungslaschen (22, 26, 122, 126) der beiden Zuschnitte (18, 20) über elastische Mittel (48) hergestellt wird.
