Abstract:
An integrated microactuator including a gas-containing cavity (4) within at least one layer (1, 2, 3) of photolithographically machinable material, electrodes (13, 15, 16) for generating an electric field inside the cavity (4) that can cause an electrical discharge in the gas, and an actuation device (7) sensitive to the gas pressure and/or velocity in the cavity (4), said actuation device (7) being connected to the cavity (4) in such a way that it is controlled by changes in the gas pressure and/or velocity resulting from the electrical discharges caused by the electrodes (13, 15, 16). An integrated microsystem including said microactuator is also disclosed.
Abstract:
Superior hydroxyls are provided which have effects on organic and inorganic compounds and/or pollutants over substantial periods of time and/or at substantial distances from where the superior hydroxyls are generated. Also provided is a hydroxyl generator, in which UV-lamps are positioned such that the coronas which they produce when emitting UV-radiation fill substantially all of the interior space of the hydroxyl generator. The coronas overlap each other by a maximum amount of between 5% and 25% of the radius of each corona.
Abstract:
Air disinfection from unpleasant scents is a problem for which many devices have been designed. However, in vast areas, the available devices have little impact. Oxygen is a divalent and sustainable molecule which is durable by itself. However, if any energy is exerted on it, it breaks during the natural process of energy release and changes into an ozone trivalent molecule (O3 ) (to further clarify the issue, if energy is exerted on three O2 molecules, it changes into two O3 molecules). During a process, toxic ozone gas molecule (O3) immediately breaks and changes into oxygen atom or active oxygen (O1) and oxygen molecule (O2). Oxygen atom or active oxygen created in this process shows reaction with the pollutants as well as the micro-organisms available in the environment and oxidizes it after bond making.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a metal halide lamp provided with a discharge vessel having a ceramic wall. The discharge vessel has two electrodes whose tips have an interspacing EA. The discharge vessel has an internal diameter Di over said distance EA. According to the invention, the discharge vessel has a filling which comprises NaJ and CeJ3 while at the same time the relation EA/Di > 5 is complied with.
