Abstract:
There is provided an antenna structure comprising: one or more antenna elements; and an outer structure spaced apart from the antenna elements; in which the outer structure comprises a non-reciprocal metamaterial having an outer periphery and an inner periphery, and the metamaterial acts non-reciprocally to permit transmission of electromagnetic radiation incident on the outer periphery and to inhibit the transmission of electromagnetic radiation incident on the inner periphery.

Une structure d'élément rayonnant (30, 50) de compacité améliorée est également proposée, dont la cavité supérieure (31) est surmontée d'un radome polarisant (51).
Abstract:
Abstract:
A housing cap(300) is provided for a handheld computer (10). The housing cap includes a structure (310) having a length extending along a first axis and a height extending along a second axis. The structure includes a first exterior surface, a first strip (302) and a second strip (312). The first exterior surface extends along the first axis, the first strip and the second strip each extending along the first axis and having a thickness. The first strip (302) is dimensioned to adjoin an interior of the first exterior shell. The second strip (312) is dimensioned to adjoin an interior of the second exterior shell. The structure includes an interior partially enclosed by the first exterior surface. The first strip and the second strip form an opening extending along the length of the housing cap (300) opposite to the exterior surface. The opening is dimensioned to accommodate an antenna element and a segment of the frame for the handheld computer.

Abstract:
An antenna assembly (40) has a mast (44) on which is supported a radiating antenna element (14), the mast (44) being shaped to comprise an electrical plug (48) on which is supported an electrical contact (400) that connects to an antenna feed line (18) for the radiating antenna element (14), the electrical plug (48) adapting the antenna assembly (40) for mating connection with an electrical socket, and the electrical plug (48) providing a mounting structure for the mast (44).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a contact device (100) having a feed member at a first end of said contact device (100) being connectable to a radio circuit in a communication device. The contact device also has a first radiating element (101) integrated at a second end of said contact device (100), being operable in a first frequency band, and a contact portion (102) being provided between said first and second end. The contact portion (102) is connectable to a contact area (405) of a second radiating element (403) operating in a second frequency band. The second radiating element (403) is arranged outside a base (402) having a cavity, and said first radiating element (101) may be arranged inside said cavity. The invention also relates to an antenna device (400) using the contact device (100) and a communication device having an antenna using the contact device.
Abstract:
A wireless communications device includes an integrated antenna assembly that provides signals associated with multiple functions to the wireless communications device. The integrated antenna assembly includes an integrated antenna housing coupled to a radiotelephone housing and multiple antennas. The integrated antenna housing can include a first antenna that provides GPS signal reception for a GPS receiver and a second antenna that provides communications signals to and from a radiotelephone processor in the radiotelephone housing. The first and second antennas can be mounted on an antenna backing having a first face and a second face. The first and second antennas may be located on the same face of the antenna backing or on opposite faces of the antenna backing. The integrated antenna assembly also can include a third antenna located between the first and second antennas. In this case, the first and second antennas are high-band antennas and the third antenna, located therebetween, is a low-band antenna which can reduce the electromagnetic coupling between the first and second high-band antennas.
