A video coding device may be configured to perform video coding according to one or more of the techniques described herein. In one example, a method of coding of video data comprises determining a predictive quantization parameter for an array of level values based at least in part on one or more of: a picture quantization map and a quantization parameter value of a video block included in a reference picture, generating a quantization parameter for the array based at least in part on the determined predictive quantization parameter, and performing an inverse quantization operation on the array using the generated quantization parameter.
Abstract:
A device determines a Compact Multi-Pass Transform (CMPT) from a plurality of CMPTs. Additionally, the device decompresses CMPT parameters for the CMPT. In instances where the device decodes video data, the device applies the CMPT to a coefficient block to reconstruct a residual block and decodes, based on a predictive block and the residual block, a current block of a picture of the video data. In instances where the device encodes video data, the device applies the CMPT to a residual block to construct a coefficient block and generates for output information indicating coefficient values for the coefficient block.

본 발명에 따른 인트라 예측 방법은 현재 블록에 대한 인트라 예측 모드를 결정하는 단계, 상기 현재 블록에 대한 CIIP(coefficient induced intra prediction) 적용 여부를 판단하는 단계, 상기 CIIP 적용 여부를 기반으로 상기 현재 블록에 대한 주변 참조 샘플들을 도출하는 단계, 상기 인트라 예측 모드 및 상기 주변 샘플들을 기반으로 현재 블록에 대한 예측 샘플들을 생성하는 단계를 포함함을 특징으로 한다. 본 발명에 따르면 수정 또는 개선된 주변 참조 샘플들을 생성할 수 있으며, 이를 통하여 인트라 예측 성능을 향상시킬 수 있다.

A device for decoding video data includes a memory configured to store the video data; and one or more processors configured to receive, in a picture parameter set (PPS), a first syntax element indicating that a palette predictor is to be generated using PPS-level palette predictor initializers; receive, in the PPS, a second syntax element indicating a number of the PPS-level palette predictor initializers included in the PPS is equal to zero; and decode a block of video data based on the first syntax element and the second syntax element.

Techniques and systems are provided for coding video data. For example, a method of coding video data includes determining motion information for a current block and determining an illumination compensation status for the current block. The method further includes coding the current block based on the motion information and the illumination compensation status for the current block. In some examples, the method further includes determining the motion information for the current block based on motion information of a candidate block. In such examples, the method further includes determining an illumination compensation status of the candidate block and deriving the illumination compensation status for the current block based on the illumination compensation status of the candidate block.

The encoding method is automatically adjusted to optimize the encoding, the adjusting depending on the content of the pictures being encoded. The SampleGroupDescription box includes a grouping type syntax element having a particular value. Additionally, the SampleGroupDescription box includes one or more sample group entries. The device generates, in the same container box, a plurality of SampleToGroup boxes. Each respective SampleToGroup box of the plurality of SampleToGroup boxes includes a respective grouping type syntax element having the particular value, includes a respective sample count syntax element indicating a number of samples in a respective sample grouping, and includes a respective group description index syntax element indicating an index of an entry in the SampleGroupDescription box which describes samples of the respective sample grouping. Each sample of the respective sample grouping comprises a respective picture of the video contents.
