There is provided a system and method for decoding an encoded video. The method comprises receiving an encoded video comprising a plurality of access units (AUs), performing a masking function to form a masked encoded video, transmitting the encoded masked video to a decoder arranged to decode the encoded masked video, receiving the decoded masked video from the decoder, and performing an unmasking function to form an unmasked decoded video. The masking function can comprise inserting at least one dummy access unit (AU) into the encoded video to form a masked encoded video and the unmasking function can comprise removing a frame corresponding to each of the at least one inserted dummy AUs to form an unmasked decoded video. The masking function can comprise selecting an access unit (AU) of the plurality of AUs of the encoded video and splitting the selected AU into at least one set of sub dummy AUs to form a masked encoded video, and the unmasking function can comprise combining frames corresponding to each of the sub dummy AUs of the at least one set of sub dummy AUs into a frame representative of the selected AU to form an unmasked decoded video.
Abstract:
A content handling device comprises a plurality of content transformation modules that can define one or more paths from a content source module to a content sink module. The content is associated with one or more usage rules requiring one or more transformations to be applied to the content. To enforce usage rules, each content transformation module is configured to receive the content, apply a transformation to the content in accordance with the usage rules and apply a tagging operation corresponding to the transformation to the content. In some embodiments output of the content by the content sink module is prevented if all tagging operations corresponding to the usage rules have not been applied. While in some embodiments usage rule tags corresponding to the usage rules are embedded locally at the content handling device, the disclosure also extends to a content distribution system with a usage rule tag embedding functionality.
Abstract:
A system and method for distributing content in a network architecture using a common intermediary mezzanine distribution format (CMZF). A media content asset may be processed for packaging in a CMZF container structure configured to carry each bitrate representation of the media content in a valid CMZF stream scheme, the media content encrypted in one or more encryption schemes. The CMZF formatted media content may be provided to an origin server for file-based distribution over a network which is of one of the following types; unmanaged network, managed network, or a combination thereof, and/or to a streaming network node for stream-based distribution over a over a network which is of one of the following types; unmanaged network, managed network, or a combination thereof. In one embodiment, the CMZF container structure may be based on an MPEG-TS format extended to facilitate carriage of ISOBMFF track and track metadata data objects in PES payload in additional elementary streams. In another embodiment the CMZF container structure may be based on an MPEG-TS format to facilitate carriage of sample variants in PES payload.

본 발명은 스마트 단말을 이용하여 숫자열 기반의 정보 유통을 지원하는 정보 유통 시스템 및 정보 유통 방법을 개시한다. 본 발명에 따르는 정보 유통 시스템은, 컨텐츠의 테마별로 테마 숫자열의 등록 요청을 수신하고, 수신된 테마 숫자열을 숫자열 DB에 저장하여 등록하는 테마 숫자열 등록부; 테마 숫자열 및 테마 숫자열에 매칭되는 컨텐츠의 등록 요청을 수신하고, 수신된 테마 숫자열 및 컨텐츠를 매칭하여 컨텐츠 DB에 저장하는 컨텐츠 등록부; 및 숫자열을 포함한 상기 컨텐츠의 제공 요청을 수신하고, 숫자열에 매칭된 컨텐츠를 컨텐츠 DB로부터 조회하고, 조회된 컨텐츠를 스마트 단말로 전송하여 정보 유통 서비스의 제공을 관리하는 정보 유통 관리부를 포함한다. 본 발명에 따르면, 숫자열을 이용하여 정보의 식별성 및 접근성이 향상되고, 숫자열에 매칭된 컨텐츠의 홍보를 통해 컨텐츠의 상품에 대한 매출의 증대를 적극적으로 지원한다.

Methods and systems for selecting and delivering content are provided. More particularly, content can be delivered to an output device from a user device through a device adaptor, such as an over-the-top (OTT) device. The OTT device or devices available to the user device are determined by a communication server. In particular, the OTT device or devices available to the user device are limited to those OTT devices associated with an output device in the user's room, or that the user is otherwise authorized to access.
Abstract:
A system for facilitating access to items of content presents recommendations to a user. Items of content may include movies and television shows. Recommendations may include access plans specifying a plurality of digital media services, where each specified digital media service provides availability to items of content included in a user defined set. Further, recommendations may be based on one or more use defined constraints. User defined constraints may include a user budget for accessing items of content during a specific time period.

A method for decoding a service guide associated with a bitstream comprising: (a) receiving a service announcement within said service guide; (b) specifying a content advisory ratings element within said service announcement that indicates advisory ratings for content of said bitstream; (c) specifying content advisory rating data based on said content advisory ratings element, wherein said content advisory rating data includes (i) a first part that includes a region identifier specifying a rating region, (ii) a second part that includes a rating description representing a rating suitable for on-screen display, and (iii) a third part that includes at least one tuple including a rated dimension followed by a rating value; and (d) decoding said service guide.
