Abstract:
Method and system for image augmentation. A captured image of a user in a scene includes a user portion and a background portion with partial scene features cut off at the image frame borders. A first set of imaging parameters is obtained, including the position and orientation of the camera when capturing the image. A background-image is retrieved in accordance with the obtained imaging parameters, from a database that includes imagery of real-world environments. The retrieved background-image is captured at a second set of imaging parameters such that the background-image includes supplementary scene features located beyond the image frame borders of the captured image and supplementing information for the partial scene features of the background portion. An updated image is generated in which the user appears relative to a background that includes the supplementary scene features, by image fusion of the captured image with the background-image.
Abstract:
A method for use in producing a plurality of personalized photo books for members of a team, including storing (400) a plurality of images including at least one group image of the team members and images including individual team members participating in different events, and using a processor to automatically recognize (405) the team members in the plurality of stored images and select (410) a subset of the plurality of stored images for particular members of the team including images associated with at least two different events.
Abstract:
A system can comprise a memory to store machine readable instructions and a processing unit to access the memory and execute the machine readable instructions. The machine readable instructions can comprise a feature set extractor to extract a feature set from each of a plurality of digital images of print samples. The feature set can be a filtered feature set that includes a feature set characterizing a printer that printed a given print sample of the print samples. The machine readable instructions can also comprise a cluster component to determine clusters of the print samples based on the feature set of each of the plurality of scanned images of the print samples. The machine readable instructions can further comprise a printer identifier to identify the printer of the print samples based on the clusters of the print samples.
Abstract:
Methods (48, 100, 120) and systems are provided for tracing the source of a printed document (72). A method (48) may include receiving (50) a print job for printing a page having page content (54), generating a log (56) of the print job, encoding (60) the log (56) using a mule image (62) to produce a data-bearing halftone image, merging (64) the data-bearing halftone image with the page content (54), and printing (70) the merged data-bearing halftone image and page content (54) to produce a printed document (72).
Abstract:
The present invention is related to a method for generating an image file for forgery verification and a method for forgery verification. A method for generating an image file for forgery verification according to the present invention consists of a generating a bit map of the image file, a generating a horizontal check logic, a vertical check logic, and a check logic of each region from the bit map, a generating a two-dimensional bar code from the horizontal check logic, the vertical check logic, and the check logic of each region, and a generating an image file for forgery verification into which the two-dimensional bar code is inserted. A method for forgery verification according to the present invention consists of a generating a first horizontal check logic, a first vertical check logic, and a first check logic of each region from the bit map by generating a bit map of an image file for forgery verification into which a two-dimensional bar code is inserted, a generating a second horizontal check logic, a second vertical check logic, and a second check logic of each region from the two-dimensional bar code, and a comparing the first and the second horizontal check logics, the first and the second vertical check logics, and the first and the second check logics of each region.
Abstract:
A method for using void pantographs (12) involves generating a test sheet (10) including multiple void pantographs (12, TP), where each of the multiple void pantographs (12, TP) includes a pantograph foreground (14) and a pantograph background (16). The test sheet (10) is printed, and from the printed test sheet (10), at least one of the multiple void pantographs (12, TP) having a covert or semi- covert pantograph foreground (14) and background (16) is identified. The printed test sheet (10) is scanned, and from the scanned test sheet (10), at least one of the multiple void pantographs (12, TP) having an overt pantograph foreground (14) is identified. A workflow is developed for the at least one of the multiple void pantographs (12, TP) having both i) the covert or semi-covert pantograph foreground (14) and background (16) after printing, and ii) the overt pantograph foreground (14) after scanning.
Abstract:
A method for enhancing security printing includes determining fields associated with print job variability. Physical security information is entered, and a physical security data stream is generated from the physical security information. The physical security data stream is mapped to a data stream that is used to provide settings for the fields for the print job variability. The fields for the print job variability are set based upon the mapping the physical security data stream.
Abstract:
A client PC 12 is capable of creating a job which can be processed by an image forming apparatus 10 where the image forming apparatus 10 prints and outputs a page for main printing included in the job received from the client PC 12 according to the job. The client PC 12 includes a CPU 201 that receives an instruction for setting confirmation printing in the image forming apparatus 10 so that a confirmation page is printed in addition to the page for main printing and output to a destination different from that of the page for main printing, and carries out the received instruction on each of the jobs; and an NC 212 that sends the job with settings for the confirmation printing provided to the image forming apparatus 10.
Abstract:
A method is provided for enabling identification of portions of a printed document from among a plurality of other portions which comprises the steps of: (i) providing a plurality of portions comprised in the printed document; (ii) selecting a first portion associated with the printed document; (iii) carrying out a comparative analysis between the first portion and at least one other portion selected from among the plurality of portions; (iv) based on the analysis results, determining a similarity factor for the selected first portion; and (v) if the similarity factor of the first portion is lower than a pre-defined value, allowing the association of one or more identification marks within that first portion.
