Zur Vermeidung dass Verunreinigungen durch einen Reinauslass (18) aus dem Kraftstofffilter (10) gelangen können und nachfolgende Bauteile beschädigen können, ist ein Reinmedium (26) vorgesehen, welche derartige Verunreinigungen zurückhält.

摘要： A coolant filter kit (16), for attaching in-line to a coolant hose (10) of a combustion engine, includes a fluid conduit member (12) and a coolant filter apparatus (14). The fluid conduit member (12) has a stem (18) and two opposed branches (20, 22) connected to the stem (18), with an inlet formed in a first branch (20) thereof, and an outlet formed in a second branch (22). The fluid conduit member (12) further has a partition (32) in the stem (18) thereof, substantially separating a first flow chamber from a second flow chamber therewithin. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, a limited amount of fluid is allowed to flow directly from the inlet (24) to the outlet (26) without passing through the filter apparatus (14). The filter apparatus (14) includes a hollow housing defining a filter chamber (48) therein. A porous cylindrical filter element (74) is disposed in the filter chamber (48) of the housing. Optionally, the filter apparatus (14) may include a slow-dissolving tablet or plug (86) for releasing a supplemental coolant additive into coolant over time.

摘要： A liquid filter as disclosed which includes a housing in which a filtering media is disposed. A relief valve permits the liquid filtrate to bypass the media when the pressure differential across the media exceeds a predetermined level. The relief valve includes a valve member consisting of a valve disc from which four legs extend. The valve closure spring engages the legs to maintain the valve closed until the pressure differential attains a predetermined level. The legs are designed so that only two of the legs engage the spring during normal operation of the valve. Accordingly, the other two legs remain unstressed by the valve spring, but can engage the edge of the valve aperture in case of failure of one or both of the other legs to prevent the valve member from falling into the liquid filtrate, thus blocking the flow of liquid filtrate to the engine, causing catastrophic failure of the engine.

摘要： A liquid filter includes a housing having a pressure chamber portion in which a filtering media is carried and a support engaging portion which attaches the housing to the engine upon which the filter is mounted. The support engaging portion includes a radially projecting section which mounts the usual gasket which effects a seal between the housing and a sealing surface on the engine. The radially projecting portion cooperates with the portion of the housing containing the filter to define a circumferentially extending groove therebetween, which isolates the gasket from the distorting forces generated in the housing by hydraulic pressure.
