Abstract:
A method and apparatus (20) for high-speed and accurate cutting of cards from sheets (42, 44) printed with an array of card layouts, moving along a unidirectional path. The apparatus (20) includes feed rollers (22, 24) for initial accurate sheet feeding, a plurality of pairs of rotation members (26, 28) having common tangent points (56) which serve to simultaneously advance a sheet (44) in indexing motions and slit it along its leading edge (40) and a transverse cutting bar (30) which cuts rows of cards across the slits. Each pair of rotation members (26, 28) includes a unidirectional driving anvil roller (26) and an idling slitter disk (28). Continuous driving mechanism operates the apparatus. The apparatus for initial sheet feeding includes rollers (22, 24) to feed sheets seriatim from a first leading-edge position to a second leading-edge position, hold them there until engaged by subsequent sheet-handling members (26, 28), release them upon such engagement, and hold the next sheet in ready position while the released sheet is drawn past.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of producing relatively-small elements, such as small boards. The inventive method comprises the following steps consisting in: unwinding a wound sheet; optionally printing at least partially on at least one face of said sheet; cutting the sheet deeply using a succession of at least two cutting patterns which intersect such as to form a resulting pattern which forms a detached element that constitutes the relatively-small element, whereby the cutting operation is performed with a series of synchronised die cylinders which bear one of the cutting patterns respectively and anvil cylinders which are disposed between the die cylinders, the sheet moving between said cylinders; and recovering the detached elements which form the relatively-small elements. The invention also relates to the method used to cut said elements, the corresponding devices, the actual elements and the sheets containing same. The invention is suitable for security or decorative elements as well as secured or decorative paper.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device (11) for the manufacture of an absorbent product comprising a rotatable slitting tool (1) having an extent in a radial direction and an extent in an axial direction perpendicular to the radial direction. The slitting tool (1) comprises a cutting part (2) comprising a plurality of cutting edges (3) having a first radius (R) and present between the cutting edges intermediate parts (4) situated at a smaller distance (r) from the axial centre line of the slitting tool (1) than the cutting edges (3). The invention is characterized in that the device (11) comprises a force-absorbing means (15) so arranged as to absorb forces from an abutment roller (16) at least when the intermediate parts (4) in the slitting tool (1) pass the abutment roller (16).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing a product, especially one that is characterized in that: a material roll (1, 2) is placed on a holding arbor (3) such that it can freely rotate; the material web (2) is pulled from said material roll (1) by means of a vacuum roller (4) without subjecting the material web to tensile stress and is cut into individual strips (6) by the rolling action of a multiple round cutter roller (5); each strip (6) is introduced into a holding channel (7) and is continuously advanced therein by means of a partial vacuum, and in that; each strip (6) is rotated approximately 90 DEG .
Abstract:
A rotary cutter for a rotary cutting apparatus. The rotary cutter includes a shaft and a mantle having at least one cutting member. The shaft is non-rotatable, and the mantle is rotatably mounted to the shaft and can be removed therefrom in an axial direction. The shaft is adapted to be rigidly mounted in a frame part, wherein the mantle is rotatably arranged relative to the shaft. The shaft may be in the form of a single piece, or a pair of axially spaced shaft portions.
Abstract:
The invention provides an apparatus for preparing a fluid for a medical procedure by mixing of at least one medicament in the form of powder with water, the medicament is held in a vessel which defines a bottom, a side wall, and a top opening which is closed by a membrane for sealing the inside of the vessel. The apparatus includes an opener for opening the membrane of the vessel. The opener includes a holder for vertically holding the vessel to downwardly orient the opening; a cutter, provided beneath the opening of the vessel held by the holder, for partially cutting the membrane along the periphery of the opening; a mechanism for vertically moving the holder toward the cutter so that the cutting edge of the cutter pierces to partially separate the membrane from the periphery of the opening whereby the medicament in the vessel falls from the vessel; a receiving member, in the form of a mesh provided beneath the cutter, for receiving all of the medicament from the vessel; and a nozzle for directing water from the source of water in the form of a spray to the medicament received by the receiving member to dissolve the medicament into the water directed to the medicament.
Abstract:
In order to hold a blade (4) steady, the blade (4) is combined with a bearing (17, 18) and a sleeve (12) to form an assembly (7) which can be moved along a guideway.
Abstract:
Apparatus for cutting tires circumferentially employs a horizontal surface (14) on which a tire (12) is placed on its side. A roller (18) enters the tire to engage the inside surface (92) of the tread portion (76) and push its outer surface (94) against a drive wheel (78). The drive wheel includes a circumferential, projecting cutting blade (74) which penetrates the tread portion of the tire and enters a slot (30) in the roller. When the drive wheel is rotated the tire is also rotated and the blade forms a circumferential cut (96) around the tire.
