Abstract:
A method and a device for spraying agricultural chemicals into the air by the use of a balloon and a technique enabling the operator on the ground to easily spray agricultural chemicals over a wide area while moving the balloon afloat in midair. The invention makes it possible to feed liquid chemicals from a compression pump into nozzles of the annular distribution piping coupled with the balloon through a hose and to spray said chemicals in a constantly high midair, whereby exhibited are such effects as an improvement in operation efficiency owing to an enlarged range over which chemicals are sprayed and as easiness in promoting safety thanks to isolation of said range from the operator.
Abstract:
Centrifugal microdiffusing apparatus for liquid products. Fixed canals (20) of the same length as the rotor (10) are provided for the introduction of a liquid, which then flows through radial perforations (15) in the wall of the rotor (10) to the periphery of the latter by means of flared grooves (14). One of the rotor faces (11) is open, while the other comprises, ribs (16) externally which serve to create a transversal ventilation effect by centrifugal force for laterally dispersing the drops.
Abstract:
A method of spraying agricultural material from a sprayboom including : providing high pressure low volume air (86,87) emerging along the span of the boom (80), causing or permitting said emerging air (86,87) to entrain ambient air to produce a multiplied volume of air flowing from said boom (80) along the length thereof, providing a source of material (83) to be sprayed from said boom (80), directing material from said source (83) in the direction of said flow of the multiplied volume of air to be entrained therein for spraying from said sprayboom (80) along its length as a spray of liquid droplets.
Abstract:
In a method for sprinkling vineyards and fruit crops, the sprinkling is carried out according to an oblique angle ( alpha 1, alpha 2) with respect to the displacement direction (a), the sprinkling making a crown configuration. The method according to the present invention may be applied by a sprinkler provided with at least one axial blower perpendicular to the displacement direction (a). The sprinkler according to the present invention is characterized in that the axial blower (5) is surrounded at a certain interval with a cylinder envelope (6) and in that the axial blower (5) is provided on its discharge side with at least one coaxial guiding element (7) shaped as a rotation body and widened towards the outside.
Abstract:
A portable holding and mixing tank system for at least two dissimilar liquids includes a tank having an interior space and a dividing wall which establishes at least two fluid-isolated holding compartments within the tank interior space for respectively holding a respective one of the dissimilar liquids. A manifold assembly defines respective channels for the dissimilar liquids and for pressurizing fluid supplied from a source thereof. The liquid and pressurizing fluid channels are fluid-connected to each of the holding compartments. A pressurizing supply conduit fluid-connects the source of pressurizing fluid to pressurizing fluid channel, while liquid supply risers respectively fluid-connect the dissimilar liquids contained in each of the holding compartments to the liquid channel defined by the manifold assembly. A liquid discharge port fluid-connects the liquid channel defined by the manifold assembly. As a result, the dissimilar liquids within each of the holding compartments are forcibly introduced by means of the pressurizing fluid therewithin into the liquid channel defined by the manifold assembly and are mixed with one another within the liquid channel prior to discharge through the discharge port.
Abstract:
This invention provides a contact chemical applicator (5) for distributing liquid chemical to foliage. Each applicator (5) is comprised of a substantially elongate and downwardly disposed body (9), ground contact means (11), at a lower end of said body (9), to contact a substrate surface as the applicator (5) is moved in a direction of travel, and, a pair of applicator arms (8), extending substantially outwardly at opposed angles, transverse to said body (9) and the direction of travel. The arms extend substantially in line or in a V-shaped configuration. In use, each arm (8) contacts and thereby supplies liquid chemical to the foliage and/or the substrate surface. A preferred embodiment utilises a plurality of such applicators (5) to form a composite distributed device (1), arranged in rows, such that, foliage contacted by an arm (8) of an applicator (5) in a forward row becomes deflected sideways and opposite to that in which it is deflected by an arm of an applicator in a rearward row.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a vehicle (1) designed to spray liquids on high plants (15) growing in parallel rows. Mounted on the chassis (2) of the vehicle (1) are a tank (3), a blower (4) and an articulated arm which extends out over the row of plants (15) and down the other side. The arm comprises uprights (5), longitudinal-traverse units (6) mounted on the uprights (5), two jointed-bar parallelograms (7) on each longitudinal-traverse unit (6) and a suspension unit (8) at the end of each jointed-bar parallelogram (7). Suspended approximately vertically from the suspension units (8) by means of pipes (92) are main screens (90) with, above them, additional, inclined screens (91). The screens (90, 91) have approximately W-section vanes spaced a certain distance apart designed to redirect the air flow several times.
Abstract:
This invention relates to "gelled-paste" compositions of sulfonylurea herbicides in a chemically stabilized formulation consisting essentially of a sulfonylurea or its agriculturally suitable salt with a salt of a carboxylic or an inorganic acid, or with mixtures of such carboxylic or inorganic acid salts in an aqueous medium and to the process for making such gelled-paste compositions, i.e., crop protection products. This invention also comprises an improved method of direct injection to crops of such crop protection products and an apparatus for the direct injection of said products.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a vehicular device for applying plant treatment agents, with a spraying device and at least one tank (24, 24') for the plant treatment agent and a separate tank for a diluent, and also with at least one metering device (32, 32') for injecting measured quantities of the treatment agent into mixing chambers (31, 31') for mixing with the diluent. The metering devices (32, 32') used in the invention inject the treatment agent into the mixing chambers (31, 31'), into which the diluent is pumped under constant-pressure control (30), only when a given output pressure is exceeded. For each group (6) of spray heads in the sprayer unit (11) and/or for each spraying agent, a reciprocating-piston pump (1) is provided as the metering device (32, 32'). The pumps (1) are driven via electromagnetic transductors (8) at constant piston speed and stroke, and their associated mixing chambers (31, 31') are located in the immediate vicinity of the spray nozzles (2, 3, 4, 5) of a particular group (6) of heads in the sprayer unit (11). The operating frequency of the reciprocating-piston pump (1) is controlled by frequency control of the electromagnetic transductor (8), as a function of the instantaneous speed of travel of the spraying device and the required output and concentration of the treatment agent, by means of a computing and control unit.
