In some embodiments, a filter media described herein may include a layer (e.g., a fine fiber layer) comprising a plurality of fibers comprising polyamide 11. In some embodiments, a filter media comprises a layer (e.g., a fine fiber layer) comprising a plurality of electro spun fibers comprising a material having one or more advantageous properties. In an exemplary set of embodiments, the plurality of fibers comprise polyamide 11 (e.g., Nylon 11). In some embodiments, the polyamide 11 fibers are produced by an electro spinning process.

摘要: There is disclosed a collector for machine fluids, comprising a mat having a perimeter wall upstanding therefrom, the mat and/or the wall comprising oleophilic material and the wall being water-permeable, so that water falling into the collector within the perimeter wall can escape therefrom, while the machine fluids are retained by said oleophilic material and wherein the collector comprises at least one composite component for machine fluid retention comprising at least three layers wherein at least one layer comprises activated carbon and wherein this layer is secured within the composite between two layers of porous material mechanically bonded to each other, preferably via needle punching, through the activated carbon layer. The collector has high efficiency in removing PAHs and other aromatics from oil/fuel contaminated water.

A method for producing the composite filtering medium, comprising a step of electrospinning for formation of nanofibres and a subsequent step of deposition of said nanofibres on a base fabric; the method comprises injection of the material for formation of the nanofibres, dissolved in a solvent or mixture of solvents, through a nozzle in order to spread it on an electrode; the method comprising application of a difference of potential between the nozzle and an electrode; the nanofibres being formed as a result of evaporation of the solvent or mixture of solvents, due to the electrical field, and stretching of the polymer deposited on the electrode, by means of the nozzle; the nanofibres thus formed being subsequently stretched and deposited on said base fabric.
