摘要: Advances in actuating fabrics could enable a paradigm shift in the field of smart wearables by dynamically fitting themselves to the unique topography of the human body. Active fabrics and fitting mechanisms are described herein that enable garments to conform around surface concavities without requiring high elasticity or a multiplicity of closure devices. Advanced materials and systems innovations (1) enable novel garment manufacturing and application strategies, (2) facilitate topographical fitting (spatial actuation) through garment architectural design, and (3) provide tunable NiTi-based SMA actuation temperatures to enable actuation on the surface of human skin. Such fabrics and garments are usable in a variety of fields including medical compression, technical sportswear, exosuits, space suits and components thereof, or non-garment applications.

摘要: A method of stabilising fibres for the manufacture of a flexible fabric, wherein said fabric (1 ) is made with natural and/or artificial textile fibres, comprising the steps of: A) brushing and ironing of the fabric (1 ) at a temperature between 30 °C and 200 °C and/or at a variable pressure between 10 and 200 bar, by means of plates or cylinders (10, 11 ); B) application of a perforated mesh or membrane (2) to a first side of the fabric (1 ) by means of a thermal rotary press, at a temperature of not less than 140°C; C) application, simultaneously with step B), of a flat textile structure (4) on the second side of the fabric (1 ), to ensure complete stabilisation and breathability of the fabric (1 ); D) coating of the fabric (1 ) with an acrylic elastomeric resin (6) and insertion of the fabric (1 ) into an oven (7). The invention also relates to the flexible fabric (1 ) obtained directly by the above method.

摘要: Pressure moulding process, and related device (100), for manufacturing an article, the process comprising: - providing a substrate (70) made of a composite material comprising a first polymeric material and fibres impregnated with said first polymeric material; - providing a coating sheet (71); - heating said substrate (70) to a temperature of the substrate (70) greater than 160°C; - subsequently, during a first compression step, compressing under pressure the substrate (70) and the coating sheet (71) between a first conformation surface (1) and a second conformation surface (2) for conforming the substrate (70) and the coating sheet (71) and for firmly fixing the substrate (70) and the coating sheet (71) to each other; - during a second compression step subsequent to the first compression step, compressing under pressure the substrate (70) and the coating sheet (71) between the first (1) and second conformation surface (2) and injecting a second polymeric material in an injection cavity (3) having an outlet mouth (4) onto the first conformation surface (1), wherein a first face of the substrate (70) opposite to the coating sheet (71) is in contact with the first conformation surface (1); - cooling the second polymeric material for firmly fixing the second polymeric material to the first face of the substrate (70), wherein, during the first compression step, a temperature of the first (1) and second conformation surface (2) is less than 120°C.

摘要: Spoolable composite pipes (100) for oil and gas flowlines may include an inner extruded tubular liner (101), a reinforcement layer (102) surrounding the inner extruded tubular liner (101), and an outer extruded tubular (103) cover surrounding the reinforcement layer (102). In these spoolable composite pipes (100), the inner extruded tubular liner (101) may include an aliphatic polyketone. Internally lined pipes (200) for oil and gas flowlines may include inner extruded tubular liner (201) containing an aliphatic poly ketone, and a carbon steel pipe (202) surrounding the inner extruded tubular liner (201). The spoolable composite pipes (100) and the internally lined pipes (200) may be configured to operate at temperatures of up to about 110°C, and to carry hydrocarbons having an aromatic content of up to about 35% by volume of the total hydrocarbons content.
