Abstract:
The present disclosure provides for a continuous rotary plate filter apparatus and a method of using the apparatus to separate slurries into liquids and solids. The methods and apparatus are useful for the production of fine chemicals and pharmaceuticals, particularly using Integrated Continuous Manufacturing (ICM), but can also be integrated with other manufacturing processes, such as batch and semi-continuous processes.
Abstract:
Method and apparatus for reducing the thickness of a precoat-layer (57) accumulated on the filtering surface (56) of a filter disc (12) from a solids-containing suspension in a basin (40) of a disc filter, said disc filter having two or more filter discs arranged on a shaft (10) and between them at least one drop chute (38) provided with a scraper (20) on both sides, which scraper (20) scrapes the cake filtered from the suspension on the filtering surfaces (56) of the filter discs (12) into the drop chute (38), by means of which scraper (20) the layer thickness of the precoat (57) on the filtering surface (56) is reduced by shortening the distance between the tips of the scrapers (20) and the filtering surface (56) and the precoat (57) thickness reduction is accomplished for the precoats (57) on the filtering surface (56) of the two filter discs (12) on both sides of the drop chute (38) non- simultaneously.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The object of the invention is a liquid extraction filter, more particularly a continuous-action, top-feed, vacuum drum filter. What is essential in the invention is that the filter comprises a drum structure (1 ) and filter elements (2), the filtration surface of which filter elements is formed of microporous hydrophilic material such that when filtering with a partial vacuum it is impervious to the surrounding air.
Abstract:
A device for cleaning a filter cloth (13) in a filter (1 ) comprises a flushing ramp (20), on which at least one spray nozzle (21) is arranged. The spray nozzle (21 ) is arranged to spray a cleaning fluid onto the filter cloth (13) in a direction opposite a filtering direction. The flushing ramp (21) has a driving device (30, 31 ) for moving the flushing ramp (20) along the longitudinal direction (L) of the rotary disc filter (1 ) during cleaning. A method of cleaning a filter cloth (13) in a filter (1 ) is also described.
Abstract:
A filter assembly includes a tank and a filter drum rotatably disposed inside the tank. The drum has an inner surface and an outer surface and is provided long the outer surface with a plurality of recessed compartments or cells, each of the compartments being provided with a filter element. A pressure let-down valve is disposed in the tank, the pressure let-down valve communicating sequentially with the compartments or cells during rotation of the drum, to draw off an overpressure in the compartments or cells. In addition, a blowback valve is disposed in the tank downstream of the pressure let-down valve as defined by a direction of rotation of the drum. The blowback valve communicates sequentially with the compartments or cells during rotation of the drum after the compartments or cells have passed the pressure let-down valve. This apparatus enables discharge of solids from the compartments or cells at atmospheric or ambient pressure.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a method for separating and drying microparticles initially dispersed in liquid phase comprising steps which consist in: providing a preparation comprising microparticles dispersed or suspended in liquid phase in a filtering vessel (12) arranged inside a chamber (6); filtering a fraction of the liquid phase (52) through the vessel in the chamber; and varying the temperature and the pressure in the entire chamber to freeze-dry the filtered preparation in the vessel maintained in the chamber.
Abstract:
A single roll wash press comprising a housing and a drum rotatably mounted within the housing. The drum includes a perforated outer wall and a longitudinally extending centerline axis and is rotatable about the axis. The press further comprises a means for receiving a flow of pulp having an inital consistency ranging from about 2 % o.d. to about 6 % o.d. such that the pulp flows in the direction of drum rotation, and a means for defining a divergent formation zone and for forming a mat of the pulp on the drum within the divergent formation zone. The means for defining and forming comprises a first arcuate portion of the housing with the formation zone being divergent between upstream and downstream ends thereof. The upstream end of the divergent formation zone communicates with the means for receiving the flow of the pulp. The press further includes a means for washing the pulp mat within a displacement zone disposed downstream of the extraction zone. The press may further include a means for increasing the consistency of the pulp within an extraction zone disposed circumferentially between the formation and displacement zones.
