Systems and associated methods for controlling roll steering during rolling of a metal substrate may include a steering control actuator adapted to control an inclination of a work roll of a work stand of the rolling mill, a sensor configured to measure a parameter of a metal substrate upstream from the work stand, and a controller operably connected with the steering control actuator and the sensor. The controller may generate a model for the work stand and determine an adjustment value for the work stand, receive the measured parameter from the sensor, and determine an expected output parameter by adjusting the measured parameter by the adjustment value. The controller may also compare the expected output parameter with a target output parameter and actuate the steering control actuator such that the expected output parameter is within a predefined tolerance of the target parameter.
Abstract:
A lubrication delivery system for a rolling facility having a plurality of roll stands. A centralized lubrication source is arranged to supply lubrication to a plurality of liners within the roll stands during a rolling campaign. The lubrication source can supply one or more lubricants via controlled conduits in fluid communication with the liners. Liners are provided with a plurality of conduits for directing pressurized lubricant from the centralized lubricant source so as to minimize lubricant loss. A plurality of different lubricants maybe provided at a centralized source with a controller or other device directing a flow of pressurized lubricant to the plurality of roll stands during the campaign.

A device for adjusting the distance between a pair of work rollers (40) in an edger of a rolling mill comprising actuator means associable with a respective work roller (40). The actuator means comprise a roll group (10; 10s) including two cylinders (20, 20s; 30, 30s) associated with each other so to slide inside each other and movable between a withdrawn or maximum distance position between the rollers (40) and an advanced or minimum distance position between the rollers (40).

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Anstellzylinder zum schnellen Anstellen von Walzen in Walzgerüsten, u.a. in Vertikal-Stauchgerüsten, umfassend zumindest jeweils einen Kolben, welcher über Einbaustücke zumindest einer Arbeitswalze oder eine zwischengeschaltete Stützwalze beidseitig auf eine Arbeitswalze zum Anstellen einwirkt. Der Anstellzylinder wird in der Weise verbessert, dass er einen Kolben (KO) aufweist, der mit zwei Kolbenstangen (ST1, ST2) in entgegen gerichtete Richtungen weisend ausgestattet ist, und dass der Kolben (KO) in jeweils einer Ausnehmung im Zylinderboden (ZB) bzw. Zylinderdeckel (ZD) eingesetzt ist, wobei diese koaxial angeordnete Bohrungen zur Durchfürung der Kolbenstangen (ST1, ST2) besitzen.

The invention relates to a flat guiding module, particularly for a roll stand, comprising a base body, a guide rail and at least one pressure cell, which is located between the base body and the guide rail. The inventive module is characterized in that the guide rail and the base body are joined at least in part via an elastic connection that, in turn, is joined to the base body and to the guide rail. The invention also relates to rolling methods for a rolling device comprising: an insert that is displaceably mounted in a roll stand; at least one flat guiding module, which faces the stand, is held on the insert, and which has a guide rail that is held in a manner that enables it to move relative to the stand, and/or; at least one flat guiding module, which faces the insert, is held on the stand, and which has a guide rail that is held in a manner that enables it to move relative to the insert, and; a drive for displacing the guide rail in which the clearance between a guiding side of the guide rail, said guiding side facing the stand, and the stand is determined or the clearance between a guiding side of the guide rail, this guiding side facing the insert, and the insert is determined, and a contact pressure, a clearance and an insert position/roll position are set with a predetermined value by moving the guide rail.

A universal rolling stand with control of the space between the rolls comprises a pair of horizontal rolls and one or more vertical rolls with respective chocks, positioning housings and a guide for the chocks with adjustment tie rods (6, 7, 6', 7', 18, 18', 19, 19') anchored on one side to the housings and acting on the chocks for the adjustment and positioning of the rolls. Adjustment is performed by means of hydraulic capsules (8, 8', 9, 9', 20, 20', 21, 21') with two hydraulic chambers with dual actuation effect and a double stem at the ends of each tie rod.

The invention relates generally to rolling stands (1) for strips and the like, of the type with crossing rolls (10, 11, 12, 13). More specifically, the invention relates to a special bearing (30) which allows the angular adjustment of the crossing rolls (10-13) even under load, that is to say, during rolling. The bearing (30) is interposed between the parts which in the course of the angular adjustment, move relative to one another and onto which the rolling forces are transmitted. According to a preferred embodiment, the bearing of the invention is formed by two rolling-contact thrust bearings superposed eccentrically one above the other.
