The present invention provides continuous casting-milling equipment and method capable of switching between continuous and batch milling, which increase the process yield rate by reducing the portion which is unavoidably processed as scrap, when switching casting or at an initial stage. The continuous casting-milling equipment comprises: a casting unit; at least two rolling units; and a coil box arranged between the rolling units. The continuous casting-milling method comprises: a casting step for producing a slab; a first rolling step which reduces the thickness of the slab; a cutting step of cutting a predetermined distance from a front end portion of the slab at the initial stage of casting; a passing step of passing the continuously supplied slab through the coil box; and a second rolling step which reduces the thickness of the passed slab.

A plant to control the section of a rolled product (12) passing through a rolling train (30) comprises at least two rolling stands (11a, 11b, 11c, 11d), a section area measurer (10) disposed immediately at exit from at least one (lid) of the even stands (second, fourth, sixth, etc.) located downstream of the first stand (11a) and configured to measure the section area of a round profile;- a control unit (20) comprising a database (21), in which at least the parameters relating to the expected value of the section of the rolled product (12) at exit from each stand are memorized, and comprising means to compare the values detected by the section area measurer (10) with the values memorized in said database (21); wherein, in the event of dissimilarity between the said values, said control unit (20) comprises means to act on at least the motors (14) associated with said rolling rolls (18) in order to vary the rotation speed of said rolling rolls (18) so as to modify, either to increase or decrease, the drawing action or thrust between at least two of said stands (11a, 11b, 11c, 11d) so as to return the value of the section of the rolled product (12) to the expected value.

Ein Band (6) wird einem (2 - 5) der Walzgerüste (1 - 5) (betrachtetes Walzgerüst) einer mehrgerüstigen Walzstraße mit einer bekannten Eingangsdicke (d1 - d4) zugeführt und läuft und aus dem betrachteten Walzgerüst (2 - 5) mit einer Banddicke (d2 - d5) aus. Es werden Messgrößen (vR, vW) erfasst, die bezüglich des betrachteten Walzgerüsts (2 - 5) für die einlaufseitige Geschwindigkeit (v1 - v4) des Bandes (6) und die auslauf seitige Geschwindigkeit (v2 - v5) des Bandes (6) charakteristisch sind. Anhand der erfassten Messgrößen (vR, vW) werden bezüglich des betrachteten Walzgerüsts (2 - 5) die einlauf seitige Geschwindigkeit (v1 - v4) des Bandes (6) und die auslauf seitige Geschwindigkeit (v2 - v5) des Bandes (6) ermittelt. Bezüglich des betrachteten Walzgerüsts (2 - 5) wird anhand der Eingangsdicke (d1 - d4), der einlauf seitigen Geschwindigkeit (v1 - v4) des Bandes (6) und der auslaufsei- tigen Geschwindigkeit (v2 - v5) des Bandes (6) die Banddicke (d2 - d5) ermittelt. Unter Berücksichtigung der ermittelten Banddicke (d2 - d5) werden weitere Maßnahmen ergriffen. Die Messgröße (vW) für die einlauf seitige Geschwindigkeit (v1 - v4) des Bandes (6) ist die Walzenumfangsgeschwindigkeit (vW) des dem betrachteten Walzgerüst (2 - 5) unmittelbar vorgeordneten Walzgerüsts (1 - 4). Alternativ oder zusätzlich ist die Messgröße (vW) für die auslauf seitige Geschwindigkeit (v2 - v5) des Bandes (6) die Walzenumfangsgeschwindigkeit (vW) des betrachteten Walzgerüsts (2 - 5). Die Voreilung des Bandes (6) im jeweiligen Walzgerüst (2 - 5) wird modelliert. Die jeweilige Geschwindigkeit (v1 - v5) des Bandes (6) wird anhand der jeweiligen Walzenumfangsgeschwindigkeit (vR) und der Voreilung des Bandes (6) im jeweiligen Walzgerüst (1 - 5) ermittelt.

The invention relates to a method for cold roll forming a metallic strip (8), a steel strip in particular, comprising a single frame (1), having means for adjusting a roll gap, a winding device (9) which is arranged upstream of the cold roll single frame for unwinding the strip (8), and a winding device (10) which is arranged downstream of the cold roll single frame (1) for winding the strip (8). The aim of the invention is to eliminate all problems connected to strip tension when the thickness of the strip varies and to increase the speed of the strip. To achieve this, a strip accumulator (2) is arranged between the upstream winding device (9) and the single frame (1) for controlling the mass flow and/or tension of the rolling process, particularly when flexible rollers are used.
