Abstract:
An apparatus for use in debarking logs that includes a debarking assembly for separating bark from logs as the logs are passed through the apparatus, such that the separated bark falls away from the logs. A contact surface catches falling bark that has been separated from logs by the debarking assembly. A pusher reciprocates over the contact surface and includes a first pusher face that pushes bark over the contact surface. A magnet reciprocates with the pusher and may be selectively activated and deactivated. When the magnet is activated, a magnetic field is provided proximate the first pusher face such that magnetically attracted portions in the bark that are brought within the magnetic field as the pusher reciprocates are magnetically attracted to the first pusher face by the magnetic field and are separated from the bark.
Abstract:
A knife structure including a knife body having a cutting surface, a relief surface and a knife clamp surface. The cutting surface and the relief surface intersect at an apex region of the knife body. The knife clamp surface intersects with an end of the relief surface opposite an end of the relief surface that intersects with the cutting surface at the apex region. In one embodiment, the apex region is comprised of an alloy of a base material for the knife body and a boron containing compound. The thermally conductive plating is present on at least the knife clamp surface, the cutting surface and the release surface of the knife body. The thermally conductive plating is not present on the apex region.
Abstract:
A feed system that is configured to more effectively grab and pull brush and tree materials into a chipper is provided. The system of the present disclosure is configured such that a large, heavy tree trunk can be continuously pulled into the chipper. The system includes two feed rollers one above the other in an offset arrangement.

Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a wood chipper (20) including a support frame (22), a housing (24) mounted on the support frame (22), a cutter member (26) for chipping wood within the housing, and a discharge chute (29) for discharging wood chips from the housing. The wood chipper (20) also includes at least one resilient isolator (138) for dampening vibration between the engine (122) and the support frame and a moveable drive sheave. Alternatively the wood chipper also includes a first resilient isolator for dampening vibration between the housing and the support frame (22). Alternatively the wood chipper also includes a noise abating curtain. Alternatively the wood chipper also includes a controllable feed means (50).
Abstract:
A waste processing machine for reducing waste material and having a safety device for shearing lines. A housing defines a cutting chamber and an intake opening in communication with the cutting chamber for receiving waste material. A disc is disposed in the cutting chamber, rotates about an axis, and has an axial surface facing the intake opening. A cutting member is fixed to the disc for revolution about the axis concurrent with rotation of the disc for reducing waste material. A cutting anvil is coupled to the housing adjacent to the intake opening and faces the axial surface of the disc for reducing waste material between the cutting anvil and the cutting member. A line shear element is attached to the housing, extends into the cutting chamber toward the axial surface of the disc, and is spaced from the cutting anvil for shearing lines caught by the rotating disc.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a chip accelerator wheel (14) for use in a wood chipper (1) and provided with a number of accelerator blades (19). Each accelerator blade comprises two opposite end sections (23a, 23b), each of which having a sliding surface (24) on its upper side. The sliding surface (24) of each one of the two end sections(23a, 23b)of each accelerator blade is inclined outwards away from the sliding surface of the opposite end section of the accelerator blade at such an angle of inclination that wood chips hit by the sliding surface (24) during the rotation of the chip accelerator wheel are made to slide downwards along the sliding surface towards a middle part of the accelerator blade (19) before being thrown forwards by the accelerator blade. The invention also relates to a wood chipper provided with such a chip accelerator wheel.
